Medicare Part D Plan Legalized Genocide on these groups Disabled, Infirmed, Elderly »

This is an urgent plea concerning life and death. This is my last attempt at saving MY OWN LIFE.
I can't find the help I need with the problem which has presented itself going now on five (5) years after Bush implemented the Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage. He mistakenly thought EVERYONE which was eligible, was going to be able to hop on the band wagon and take the Medicare Part D plan, when it was first implemented. This plan is going to be the cause of MY DEATH in addition to the Pharmaceutical Company Amgen Wyeth which has within its own company, the Encourage Foundation 1-800-282-7752 which is who I must send my proof of income to to qualify for their medicine Enbrel, speak with (MONICA) SHE SAID SHE DIDN'T CARE ABOUT MY PROBLEM WITH GETTING MY OTHER MEDICINES AND SHE WAS ALSO TELLING ME I WILL BE CUT OFF APRIL 30, my downhill slide to deaths door, will begin as soon as I miss my FIRST shot, she spoke of some other foundation which would help pay for the shots, what they'd do is allot 2,500 hundred dollars which would only lasta month and a half, then maybe she said they could find another foundation to keep me going, but that's not guaranteed, and when I asked what then, she said I'd have to wait till the next year to reapply, that's when I lost it and said she was crazy, I can't be taken off it period or I'll DIE, then there was Christina and/or Stephanie, also this next number 1-858-352-2303 is to the guy Nathan, at Covance who told me the great news that Amgen Wyeth was taking my medicine away from me, where upon they are deliberately going to kill me off. Since Covance is suppose to be a place which experiments on people with new drugs which are supposedly FDA approved, I don't understand the connection between Amgen Wyeth and this Covance. Possibly they are all one entity performing their drug experiments on people to obtain the data they need to push the drug to the public. I WAS a guinea pig for Amgen Wyeth back in 1997 BEFORE their drug Enbrel (shots) were available to the general public, BUT I dealt directly with Amgen Wyeth, so Covance possibly hadn't been created yet. TO BOOT I HAVE ALL THESE CONVERSATION ON TAPE BECAUSE THEY TAPE THEM TOO. Nathan said he wouldn't comment further, I let him know his comments were recorded so no comment wouldn't suffice. He's the one which was so arrogant, and sounded darn near gleeful when he told me the news, further informing me that my problems with the other eight (8) companies and their dropping me from their FREE programs IF I was to take a Medicare Part D Plan, wasn't Amgen Wyeth Pharmaceuticals problem, they want their $ 6.00 dollars. I was talk9ing to deaf ears, I told him it wasn't his 6 dollars, it was all 9 medications which calculated to 54 dollars per month. But, when I spoke with the other 8 companies, they told me if I took a plan they'd drop me and their new criteria would be that I'd have to pay out of pocket 400 dollars per year, or per month (which doesn't matter which) before I could qualify for just one of their medicines, and I'd have to pay them 25 dollars per month for that one medicine every month after that. Geez, I don't nor ever will have it.
I have no one to turn to for help. My time shall soon be up. I'll be dying a slow and excruciating painful death.
I don't know if you're a reporter or just another person writing articles for people to read, or what, but I've tried all the conventional methods, investigating, researching every lead I was given or sought myself, to hit a dead end, it's been fustrating and futile as I've discover, there IS NO HELP anywhere for MY particular problem or situation NOR do I believe I AM THE ONLY ONE FACING THESE ISSUES.
Here is my story.
I've been totally disabled from two work related injuries since 1985 which rendered me a wheelchair user. The medicines I'm on as a result of THOSE permanent injuries are being paid for, and shall always be paid for ,by my work comp insurance carrier, however years later, twelve (12) to be exact, I developed the disease of Rheumatoid Arthritis, which I'll refer to as (RA) to save space, this disease has caused several eye diseases when it attacked my eye's. I also have high blood pressure which I'm on two medicines for that problem.
I have been enrolled on numerous patient assistance programs previous to this Medicare Part D's creation, directly from the Pharmaceutical Companies for many, many years, which has provided me all nine (9) medicines I'm on relating to diseases unrelated to my work comp injuries, FREE of charge.
Amgen Wyeth Pharmaceutical called me March 31, 2009 and told me I was going to be withdrawn from their patient assistant program which provides me my RA shot medication called Enbrel (which is the ONLY medicine my body will except) as others have been tried. This drug consists of two (2) shots per week at an expense which I had been told by them was $ 1,500 per month, but I was also told recently it was $ 1,400 per month. So, I don't really know what to believe from them nor does it really matter at this point. I certainly can't afford this medicine and without it I'll die, it's that simple. I have five (5) eye drops I must administer daily, some more often than once per day, or two drops per eye once per day, to prevent my going blind. Amgen Wyeth said they had JUST discovered that I qualify for the governments Low Income Subsidy, referred to as (LIS), which is an obsolute lie, because they have me sign papers every year when I requalify for the next year, access to all my medical records with Social Security and Medicare Office as well as my doctors office records for proof of income etc., This (LIS) is where the Government pays the policy premium for a Part D plan, least wise, so long as the cost doesn't exceed the approximate amount of $33.25 per month. Now, this ridiculous government idea of acknowledging that I'm to poor to pay the plans premium, but on the other hand thinks I have the out of pocket money to pay $ 6.00 dollars PER prescription for each of my medicines which calculates to a permanent $ 54.00 dollars a month is ludicrious, as I CANNOT AFFORD to. So, I'm being forced to pay money I never had to begin with to obtain the medicines I WAS getting for nothing. In the beginning it was voluntary and still is to my understanding at least for those which were not on MEDICAID. I am not, nor will I ever qualify for Medicaid, as my income of $ 14,000 per year from my social security disability and work comp disability exceeds the limits to obtain Medicaid. I do however, have Medicare, to pay for whatever healthcare which it barely pays for, in addition to my work comp, which as previously stated, ONLY pays for my work related injuries. Amgen Wyeth Pharmaceutical told me March 31, that I had till the end of April to take a Part D plan, just so they can abstract the lousy $ 6.00 FEE they are to darned and determined to get from me.
So, I went to work, attempting to again, since 2005 when these plan D's first hit the market when I invesitgated it then. There are exactly 40 plans in my area of the State of Kentucky, YET ONLY ONE which will totally be paid for by the government, the rest would cause me to pay more money out of my pocket ! Seeings as this was another dead end, I decided to call the other eight (8) Pharmaceutical Companies I get my medicines from FREE presently. You'll never guess what they told me. They said IF I take a plan D, then I'll lose all the other eight (8) medicines I've been getting from them for many, many years. This is a catch twenty-two. I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't take one. Now how is that possible ?
The plot thickens. Amgen Wyeth told me they had obtained their newly discovered information from my Social Security file and Medicare records. That information had been in my file that I qualified for the LIS since 2005. When Social Security didn't know in the beginning what their other hand was doing as all America knows it was a mad house. They couldn't give a straight answer nor one that was believable or made any sense, they in fact gave wrong misleading answers. I called them asking two simple questions back in 2005 when this nightmare for me first began.
1) What exactly is the Low Income Subsidy (LIS) ?
AND
2) If I choose to take a Medicare Part D plan, will it pay for all my medicines leaving me nothing to pay out of pocket ?

Here they were pushing everyone to hurry urgently to just pick a plan, don't worry about what you pick, you can change it later if you don't like it ,or it doesn't provide the services you what or need. Since I was trained in the insurance business, I wasn't about to fall into taking anything without first reading what it had to offer and have some ability to comparison shop. They of course didn't provide that either. Even the insurance companies selling these plans refused to provide any written information. And since I was already on patient assistance programs, I stopped and never bothered taking one when I had to go onto Social Securities site and/or Medicares site on the computer just to find out the answers they couldn't provide. I found out that yes I qualified for the LIS but would have to pay out of pocket money I didn't have to begin with. My low income STILL qualifies me for the Pharmaceutical patient assistance programs for medicines at NO CHARGE. YET, this one company Amgen Wyeth insists I take a plan.
Had Social Security NOT left the information on my records that I qualified for the (LIS) since 2005 I wouldn't be in the fix I'm now in. They had told me through several phone calls I made to them in the past two weeks, asking me, didn't I receive a paper to verify my income etc. and that IF nothing had changed, there was no need to do anything. I do good to remember what I did yesterday or this morning at 57 years of age, much less four (4) going on five (5) years ago. I don't know what you sent me. But IF it ONLY had on your paper there was no need to respond to it concerning my income information, then why would I respond ? One person told me, that if I didn't respond the following year, then they'd drop me off the qualified for LIS system. But that's not what happened, it remained there and it shall remain there indefinitely and they refuse to remove it. Plus they had the audacity to inform me, that had I NEVER applied for the LIS to begin with, that wouldn't be on my record wherein its causing a problem with the pharmaceutical company. You can imagine my discust, anger and frustration. Had they BEEN able to answer my questions, I wouldn't have been forced to go on their site to find out what this LIS did to begin with. All they kept saying is they were sorry for the inconvenience, or they'd simply hang up on me because they wouldn't do anything about the problem they presented which is whether I live or die. Inconvenience, DAMN, it's more than an inconvenience, YOUR KILLING ME I TOLD THEM.
So, as you can imagine, I'm still upset and I have little doubt I will be dying soon and nobody gives a damn. Is that what our once GREAT COUNTRY has come too. I am left with ONE conclusion, this Medicare Part D plan is nothing more than a legal genocide to kill the disabled, the infirmed, and elderly people off. WE have become the next futuristic disposeable trash, here, now, in the present world. IT causes peoples deaths and they call it an inconvenience ! WOW, bust my buttons.
I realize this will probably be futile by my writing to you too, I hold very little hope of finding a solution this late in their game.
To boot, when I told Amgen Wyeth, they were looking at something written in my records back in 2005, then they came back with a snap remark, " WELL, our new criteria excludes people that have any Medicare whatsoever ". " REALLY, I said, well I hope the heck that's true, because my family will be pretty ticked off when they find an attorney to sue your company and then find out, you're lying about that, and that you are indeed providing your medicine to them, as well as to those which also qualify for the LIS and still can't afford your medicine. And by the way, you've rapped the American people, making your billions off our sick, and GIVE your medicine to Canada and third world countries for NOTHING, screwing the very people which made your company billions of dollars with your astronomical pricing fee's, you are nothing more than GREEDY. " So, I hope my up coming death will serve a purpose, possibly for the next poor soul this will be happening too. I'd just like someone to investigate before I die and find out one additional question before I die, and that is, wasn't this our governments intentions to begin with ? If you choose to respond, I pray you'll do so quickly, and please take the liberty to address it to my following screen name as I doubt I'll be logging onto this site anytime soon if at all, again.
I thank you kindly for your time and anything you may be willing to do on my behalf, but I ask that you don't give me anymore leads as PPA (Montel Williams BUS) and all the ones I've been given are meerly to help someone to select a plan, or get discount cards to help pay the price of prescriptions. I've discovered it'd take an act of Congress and laws to be passed to correct the loophole our government has created and I just don't have enough time left to me.
My blood work for inflammation right now is 63 when 20 and below is normal PLUS I'm on chemo therapy along with the Enbrel shots, and have been for the past 6 months and it climbed from 50 a couple of months previous from then, and that my RA Titer is 2,560 which 10 and below is normal. So once they withdraw me from this Enbrel it will without a doubt kill me because the Chemo can't handle the inflammation on it's own, it wasn't designed to. Nathan didn't care.
