The "separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them", is the same as the the individual station we occupy on the time-line.

They, the ones before us knew, as Nature dictated, we were required to form a governing body called a government, and also communicate effectively the orders that would keep us in order. Truth is..."We The People" ordained the Constitution...the word ordained is the same as proving also "We The People" as a whole are vested with the powers of government, shared with all of us. But that's not the point. We live in a different society now, and American ideals have been refined. 1776 was a long time ago, and the founders had many good ideas and some bad ones that were considered acceptable at the time.

Torture is torture, regardless of whether there are more barbaric forms or not. Waterboarding came from the Spanish Inquisition.
Think about it. Being disemboweled or sliced open and having molten lead poured into wounds may be harsher than being drawn and quartered, but they're all still torture, and they're all morally wrong. The ends never justify the means.-

What do we have to see in this country before you realize what your "moral sensibilities" are inflicting on the country?
Train or subway bombings?

after 911 the hit on known al Queda hideouts should have been swift and conclusive....
even to the use of "small" nukes if necessary.. collateral damage be damned..
the Saudi king who by chance was in New York when the attacks should have been sent home immediately. told that if it happens again.. it was after all his people that did this that Mecca would cease to exist.. and that oil would be 50 per barrel and they would pump ALL WE NEED.. ..

There is no evidence whatsoever that torture stopped any terrorist attacks.
We've seen an incredible erosion of our own civil liberties and our own ideals in Bush's "war on terror." To that, I say "enough is enough."
