So do I. Especially brand-new songs that I hear on TV. And older, now classic songs, too. And some other types I could go on forever... But once you get hold of a karaoke/instrumental version of a song you love, it is important how you start learning it. If you just start singing, imitating the original performer... well, that’s fun but not as much fun as if you make the song “your own”. You might say: “my own? I don’t have my own style yet, otherwise I wouldn’t be singing others’ songs, how could I make it my own?” You may not have your unique style yet. If this is the case, singing with instrumentals can definitely help you “find your own voice”!
