Power Line - "Why Does Obama Hate America So Badly?" »
Posted By Wolfie2007 6 months, 4 weeks ago in Political NewsThat's the question posed by Gerald Warner in the Telegraph . I don't think the question is entirely fair, however. I think Obama only hates America as it was before it elected him President in November 2008. He might even be willing to forgive his country as of the date he was elected to the Senate. Still, Warner makes some cogent points:

So, next time a senior al-Qaeda hood is captured, all the CIA can do is ask him nicely if he would care to reveal when a major population centre is due to be hit by a terror spectacular, or which American city is about to be irradiated by a dirty bomb. Your view of this situation will be dictated by one simple criterion: whether or not you watched the people jumping from the twin towers
I would add - Or watched the online videos of al-Qaeda beheading people they captured-

So you really believe if a high-value terrorist, who had pertinent information on an imminent attack, were captured the other terrorists wouldn't change their plan?
"I would add - Or watched the online videos of al-Qaeda beheading people they captured"
Then torture becomes retribution, not intelligence gathering.

He's already campaigning for 2012 he's done nothing to prove he deserved the job in the first place. Remember when he became US Senator? He immediately started campaigning to be President. He's great at campaigning but he needs to try to be President before running for a second term.

Obama's marvelous at campaigning and community organizing but he's failed the test as a leader.-

at the teabgger protests, there were protests against 'taxation without representation' yet when Obama does exactly what he promised to do on the campaign trail, what he was elected to do, the right doesn't like that either.... this is representation, but as a great Republican once pointed out, "You can't please all of the people all of the time."

In other words, he does not cave to the party of NO. In other words, he thinks through his plans before he acts, unlike the previous White House occupant. He makes rational, solid decisions that exclude torture and sets the US on a course to be a shining example to the world again. Just maybe, he is one of GHW's 1000 points of light!

here is the crux of it, the repubs appear to be scared because, unlike Carter, President Barack Obama is a formidable opponent. He is kicking your asses left and right. Your party doesn't know what to do, because Rove's strategies don't work on him. He wont be distracted, he wont get sucked into name calling BS, he jut keeps on doing what he was elected to do.

You are seeing general outrage by what you consider are politically based views. Obama isn't a democrat and that is why conservatives (and you are starting to see other more moderate democrats concerned as well) are upset. He is a socialist who happened to "hijack" the democratic party. People who love the United States (Republicans and Democrats alike) realize the core problem with Obama is that is is not proud to be an American. That is why you see the tea parties, etc. People are starting to figure Obama out. Why haven't you?

While they are chopping off the heads of innocent American citizens who travel abroad, we are supposed to beg them to give us the information to protect ourselves?! I do enjoy that irony. After 8 years of Dems whining about the idot from Texas, who just happened to kick their butts 2 times when he was supposed to be a farce, now the Repubs are upset that this president is being effective. Come on folks... Agree with him or not, he is being an effective advocate for what he wants and is getting things done.

Obama is merely carrying out what his mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, had taught him, and what Bill Ayers has reinforced in Obama's Brain --- AMERICA (as we know and LOVE it) MUST BE DESTROYED and re-made to Obama's specifications: A SOCIALIST NIGHTMARE! For there is NO WAY America became so prosperous on her own simply through her Protestant Work Ethic, Yankee Ingenuity, and other Western Cultural Values and Virtues, right? The Soviet Union would had worked-out just fine-and-dandy if not for unfair American competition, right? Socialism EVERYWHERE it was tried would had been a smashing success if not for American interference, right? Well, this is probably what Frank Marshall Davis and Bill Ayers stressed to Obama, and he swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. Obama is SINCERE when he makes his apologies to the World's Low-Lifes, for he doesn't know any better. So expect more of the same --- AND WORSE. God help our country!

If you would have read my past comments, you would see I cited Stalin's view of "Socialism", for that is what he termed the Soviet form of government in Russia. Do you even know what Stalin believed "True Communism" to be? Since you are obviously a student, I'm not going to impart the answer, but rather let you research it. You'll find the answer in one or more excellent biographies of "Man of Steel". Let's see just how studious and resourceful you are, vor. I suggest you NOT use your college library, but your local public branch.
It is obvious Obama is taking to heart, "From each according to his ability; to each according to his needs". That, as you know, is from the Communist Manifesto, that is what Stalin professed to practice, and that is what (due to his definition of "True Communism") Stalin deemed "Socialism". And it can start, as in America, INCREMENTALLY, and then surge ahead in the hands of an Obama. That is where America is at as I type this. If you believe otherwise, you are willingly BLIND or not as bright as you believe you are, with MUCH studying ahead of you (which we could all do with, for we're never done learning)..
That's all I'm going to tell you for now, as repeating oneself gets old Feel free to visit my profile-site and read my past comments if you really want my opinions. -

How about informing us exactly when the last time Obama and Ayres actually spoke to each other? Had any communication outside of the Annenberg Project. Or how long ago it was that Obama last spoke to Davis? Neither of these men is an influence on his current thinking.
Do you not think the greed of unregulated capitalism has done enough damage to America? Apparently we didn't learn enough of a lesson in '29? Don't you understand it was this greed that d-mn near destroyed our economy. And we aren't out of the woods yet.
You are typing your idiotic words with complete freedom. You will have this same unrestricted freedom in 8 years when Obama turns over the Presidency to someone hopefully of equal intellect.
Obama has apologized for nothing excepting our arrogance and lack of diplomacy. It would have been interesting to see what Powell and Rice could have done at State without being dominated by the neocons. But we will never know. Odd that nothing was really resolved during the Bush years. Nothing! the very enemies that attacked us on 9/11 are in fact stronger today.
You don't understand what Socialism even is (how surprising?) And I suppose because I have read much of The Communist Manifesto and researched the failures of Mao, Lenin and Stalin that makes me an evil and subversive force as well? I would prefer to refer to this as being well informed.
Far better than listening to the subversive underground right wing thought I came upon last year. Virulent hatred disguised as idealogy. But they have no solutions, no new ideas. Just the usual non-sensical complaints.
I would ask you the same question I ask them all: (and I don't expect an answer)
Did you support the actions of Timothy McVey? Was he an American "patriot" (sic)? -

Sure, the compensation is OK, but it's not stellar (at least not in Canada).
But I would do it because I don't like the direction our country is headed, and want to at least try to ensure that our government and our country stay free, tolerant, and open.

Very well stated. I'm just wondering when the media is going to wake up and see Obama for what he truly is. Yes, he's carrying out campaign promises but those promises will only hurt this nation. There were many other promises he made while giving his speeches during the campaign but the media chose not to make those well-known. So much unfair coverage during this last election. The truth about what Obama stands for is beginning to show up. I hope people will enjoy the socialist society that he is pushing for and can get due to the imbalance of power in our government. When you have a democrat president, you need a republican congress to balance things out and vice versa. What is going to happen when they bankrupt the working class? Who then are they going to pillage to pay for all these things? It's not the necessary war that has damaged this nation's economy or the world's economy. Part of it is a self-correction for inflated ratings on the real values of things such as real estate. We could talk about creative accounting practices that got the top execs at say Enron in trouble but no one goes after the government for doing the same things. Wake up, citizens! This country will go downhill rapidly if he does continue to carry out the things he has promised. I could list a multitude of things that we will be loosing although they are supposedly protected under the US Constitution but the current administration looks at that document as being nothing more than toilet paper to be flushed.

who once informed us, that Obama did not really write his best-selling books.
Because, if you removed all the good things Obama was said to have written,
- there were no examples of him writing well.
I thought that a rather unusual argument.
For some time now we have been tag-teamed by a very weird
group of posters, whose message is:
Obama hates America .
Obama won't wear a flag pin;
won't sing the anthem;
apologizes to our enemies,
plans to abolish the dollar;
plots to surrender control to the UN.
It is an unusual thing for a ruler to hate his nation;
to scheme to make his own army weaker,
his economy poorer,
to lessen his own power, and then surrender it.
But it is not unusual, for people who have lied; and been disbelieved, - to come back with another lie.
And another.
And another.
- till we tune them out like white-noise;
or till hell opens up beneath their feet and takes them home. -

No, we'll be "loosing" them from the constitution. I think this means they'll no longer be bound in the constitution, and will be able to affect things in the real world, like the government. IMO, that'd be a good thing, if the constitution were able to affect the government.

What sensitive CIA info? The photographs of Abu Grahib & Guantanamo Bay were released by military personnel while Bush was President. The questions of who authorized the abuse of power popped up while Bush was President. Also, while Bush was President, photographs of lower level military personnel who carried out the abuse were aired on TV stations worldwide!
On top of that, the country is divided. Many people want President Obama to have the people responsible for the mess punished. Then there are people who approve of torture and don't want to see those who sanctioned it punished.
How is President Obama supposed to please everyone in a country that Bush & Cheney managed to divide on issues like the Iraq war & torture?
Sensitive CIA info? What info did President Obama release that YOU didn't know about? Cause you "betcha" most if not all people were already aware of what went on. If YOU didn't know, may I pleez ask how old you are? -

With very rare exceptions, members of the Republican party continue to try to justify the kidnapping AND TORTURE of prisoners during the Bush administration. Republicans are, of course, the party that claims to have such wonderful Christian "family values" and cares so much about America.
Reply
However, it really HURTS America to have acted this way, and then to try to deny the facts! And, the International Red Cross has already said that the U.S. DID IN FACT TORTURE PEOPLE. Source: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/03/16/terror/m... (Lots of other sources are available online... but, you have to look for this information... mostly it's been ignored or even covered up by U.S. "news" outlets that are supposedly left-leaning.)
Remember: That's the GOP... the party of Christian values and TORTURE... plus lies to try to justify and/or cover up the TORTURE.
