Last week, the propeller developers were just discussing the perception of the midwest states in the rest of the country.

Most if not all the developers are either living in the midwest or from the midwest. So it is a very pertinent discussion. Being from Iowa I get particularly tired of the perception that we are a backwater state. That's what makes these stats from the story so relevant:
In 1839, the Supreme Court for what was then the territory of Iowa refused to recognize a slave as a possession, years before the United States Supreme Court would rule in an opposite fashion, against Dred Scott. In 1868 and 1873, the court issued rulings favoring desegregating schools and public accommodations, almost a century before the United States Supreme Court heard Brown v. Board of Education. Iowa was the first state, in 1869, to permit women to practice law. -

This law was passed by the legislature. and signed by the Governor. Wait and see what the reaction of the people is. I know that this is going to make them angry. Watch out for a referendum. Every time the people vote it goes down in flames.

Well Endo, we hope that the good people of Iowa are not as bigoted and close minded as you.I might want to also mention that this is a civil rights issue and people can't be allowed to vote away other citizens rights, as much as you'd like to.

I wish you would answer this question once. I have asked you several times and you just will not answer me.

If I got the people of your home state to vote that you no longer have any human rights, how would you feel? The people voted for it. They can arrest you at will, you'll have no parental rights, you can be beaten or spat upon, or worse and there is nothing that you can do about it. But again, the people voted.
You would be OK with that?
