Iowa has achieved marriage equality through judicial means. Sometimes the courts need to stand up for the rights of the minority. That said, Iowa has traditionally been ahead of the curve in terms of liberty and equality. Kudos to Iowa!

I disagree with this. I think the courts need to stand up for the rights of all. May be a bit in the semantic world, but I think it portrays a better intent in reaching equality. Just as you wouldn't have a fraud or murder law to single out one race, creed, religion, etc. Laws should be applicable to everyone equally.
That is conservative and you need to remind others of that. Those that believe otherwise can in no way be considered conservative.
