"Can We Convert All Gasoline Stations to Battery Shops When Electric Cars Dominate the Market"
Reply
That's got be one of the funniest things I've read in months.
Electric cars will NEVER make it in the market place. The reason why is because they will no time soon have batteries that are efficient enough. With all the research they have done to improve batteries over many many decades, electric cars can hardly get 50 miles distance without needing a recharge. Then a recharge takes many many hours time. Jay Leno has an old early 1900s electric car in his massive old car collection, it gets about 35 miles per charge. So, in the last 100 years or so batteries for electric cars have gained about 15 to 20 miles before they need charged. You people are dreaming if you believe electric cars are the answer, they simply are not and probably never will be. We are light years away from producing electric cars that will take us the distances that most of us require. Then consider the fact that these batteries are full of very nasty acids and toxins, also, they have to be replaced every 5 years or so, and are VERY expensive to buy. Electric cars are a JOKE!-

That MOST of us require? I don't usually drive more than 35 miles per day. Sounds like Leno's car would work for me.

Have you seen the improvements in battery technology in the last several years? It's mostly in laptops and cell-phones, but the batteries are far smaller, far lighter, and last far longer than they ever have before. I think the micro-processor is probably reaching the point of diminished returns, and it's quite possible that the next main focus will be batteries, at which point who knows how far the technology will improve? -
