The radical and compelling message of Buddhism tells us that
each of us has the wisdom, awareness, love, and power of the
Buddha within; yet most of us are too often like sleeping
Buddhas.   In Awakening the Buddha Within, Surya Das shows
how we can awaken to who we really are in order to lead a more
compassionate, enlightened, and balanced life.   It illuminates
the guidelines and key principles embodied in the noble
Eight-Fold Path and the traditional Three Enlightenment
Trainings common to all schools of Buddhism: Wisdom Training: Developing clear vision, insight, and inner
understanding -- seeing reality and ourselves as we really are. Ethics Training: Cultivating virtue, self-discipline, and
compassion in what we say and do. Meditation Training: Practicing mindfulness, concentration, and
awareness of the present moment. With lively stories, meditations, and spiritual practices,
Awakening the Buddha Within is an invaluable text for the
novice and experienced student of Buddhism alike.

Meditation is the key to all life....
Even though we all experience suffering it is not part of the
true grounded existence , suffering is just a feeling, an emotion that is very fluid, changing from one moment to another. A story i read ...2 Guys , best friends went camping
they setup camp. The passenger left his box of crackers in the car and the driver(owner)left his wallet and keys on the dash.
They both were so tired , they forgot about it. the next morning. they both woke up to find that the soft top on the car was all ripped up. The driver thought that some vandal did it. He was so angry.. After a little bit they looked at the situation a little further. Crachers were gone but keys and wallet were still there. seems that a racoon got in there and took the crackers. he owners attitude changed , he was no longer mad that much at the situation, knowing that the racoon needed food and didnt really mean to tear up the car. He just wanted to survive. Point being the drivers atitude changed quite a bit after he figured out the truth.
