This devotional seems very fitting to me at this time, as we deal with the recession, the swine flu, and the fact that the world is just not in great shape. It's a reminder that these things will pass away, and nothing shall overcome the power of God, and the power of the Cross. God's love for us is so much greater than all our troubles, even if things seem hard at the moment. One of the greatest comforts to me is the knowledge that Jesus will return to establish His kingdom forever and ever.

Heavenly Father,

We live in a troubled world, but you sent Your Son to die for us, and in that death and ultimate resurrection, Christ overcame the world. We who repent of our sins and believe in the power of that sacrifice will also overcome the world. A recession is nothing to you, and neither is disease. You are all powerful and I thank you for your enduring mercy. Let us be thankful for your grace, no matter what the future holds, and let us be strong by the power of Your Holy Spirit. I also ask that you awaken those who do not know Christ to the truth of what He has done for us; without Him, chaos is all there would be.

In Jesus name,

Amen.

  Things have been pretty rough since you left.
  
  My fellow Christian Conservatives have been in trying circumstances.
  
  It seems that their POLITICAL support for the Modern Right is growing ever more conflicted and contradictory with the entire essence of Christianity.
  
  For instance, many Christian Conservatives on Propeller have become real defenders of TORTURE ...
  
  I know, it's kinda weird to think TOTURE ... and CHRISTIANITY at the same time in the head. And I think that's where my fellow Christian Conservatives have been struggling.
  
  Thus far ... (and I should say ... as always) ... they have chosen their POLITICAL preference ... as opposed to the precepts of the Christian RELIGION.
  
  I believe that this has caused considerable ANGST among my fellow Christian Conservatives ... and that's why they have taken to ratcheting up their cursing and insults toward those who don't share their rejection of Christianity.
  .
  So welcome back, my friend.

  Yes, God is Giver of ALL things, and we must remember, especially in these hard times, that He gives us the grace, strength, and even the will to get through them. Just think how we would be without His grace and strength! And Where would we be????
