Senator Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) will begin the debate on immigration reform when the new chair of the immigration senate subcommittee holds a hearing on Thursday. Schumer played a key role in the 1986 amnesty, brokering a compromise on agricultural workers that helped the bill pass.

Once again our Washington politicians from the President to the House and Senate are trying to give amnesty to illegals. With millions of American's out of work, our debt greater than every debt from President Washington to the current President Chuck Schumer and company are campaigning for amnesty.

Our entitlement system in many states is almost broke, California for one, facing the possible threat of an out break of Swine Flu that could be a pandemic, our leaders have taken their focus off the good of the American people and are selfishly willing to give citizenship to illegal to insure them of a new voting block.
Offers of instant citizenship, free health care, free education, low home loans insures politicians a life time of support from people the politicians are using and turning into a slave class.-

I just returned from the link. What a "homework" assignment! Every FAX was dutifully written and sent. My-three-libs (wouldn't that make a good sit-com title?), Sen. Feinstein (D-CA), Sen. Boxer (D-CA), and Rep. Susan Davis (D-CA) will be set in the way of toilet paper for awhile, LOL!
At least I can say I did SOMETHING to keep this ABORTION of a Amnesty Bill from passing. Thanks.

Hold on skippy, please show the arrest reports you claim to exist. That's like the noise Cindy Sheehan made concerning a visit with the President. Cindy and the entire left-wing press group forgot to mention that she had already met President Bush in the White House. All of the protests and sitting in front of his home was a huge PR move that really didn't help anyone. Other than the news for selling ad space and the terrorist's morale.

As to giving up your life for the messiah, we'll see how well you like your government run death care. I mean HMO. Just think the same level of quality care you get at the DMV will be your from the Obama health plan. The only way to reduce costs is restrict service. Get used to long lines and refusals. That's how it works in the UK and Canada. Wait until you find you been bypass surgery and they tell you to go home and wait a few months for your turn. We'll see how well you like government HMO's. Every parent, regardless of their motivation, who lost a child in Iraq deserves to stand face to face with Bush and ask him why their child had to die. I don't think that's wrong. Apparently you are more willing to give up your children than the average parent.

We're testing my memories, it's been a long time since I studied them. There were mercenaries who fought for set times with little benefit other than money. They anyone from out side of the Roman world. Germany, France, would be my first guesses. It really was anyone outside of the Empire. As for them becoming a citizen, I thought they had to be from one of the colonies and serve 25 years before they would be permitted the title citizen. Again, it's been a long time. In the end, most of the Roman legions were little more than hired help. That was one of the other reasons for the 2 capitals. Rome fell, Byzantium lasted much longer. Their army was made up of mainly their own people.

One more time. The only way to stop the immigration of illegal aliens is to prosecute fully the people who hire them. If the immigrants can't get a job, they will not stay. It is that simple. Unless the industries who rely on illegal immigrants to make their cost structures work change, there is no reason to keep prosecuting the illegals who work here. Employers will just hire different illegals to fill the shoes of the deported.

You may find that those people who are hiring those illegal immigrants outside Home Depot are the ones who are crying most for a fence. Because they know that a fence won't keep people out any better than a river does now. And they can still get their floors put in for 20 dollars a day.

Again, not ALL illegal immigrants are from Mexico. You would be surprised to see the actual numbers. But you are again just playing semantics instead of addressing the real problem. The real problem is that the industries that rely on illegal immigrant labor cannot be successful without it. Until those industries change and employers are prosecuted for falsifying information, it will continue no matter what you do to try and stop it.

And that is precisely why E-Verify needs funded - the Democrats removed the funding for that program from the stimulus bill

If the Democrats are now going to go after employers at least give them a tool to use to verify whether the person is in the country legally and or has a valid work permit
Once the system is in place go after the employers with steep fines for a first offense - $50,000 - $100,000 per illegal worker
Second offense - jail time-

Um...the system currently in place is fine it's just not being enforced. Social Security numbers can tell you right away who is here legally and who isn't. The problem is that employers falsify the documents saying that they saw a social security card that they didn't.-

The current law is NOT working
Employers are supposed to look at Social Security cards, green cards, drivers licenses and keep copies on file in case federal authorities come knocking.
The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act was aimed at getting a grip on this country's illegal immigration and employment.
The law lists documents that employers must look over after hiring someone, but it doesn't require them to be detectives. As long as the paperwork appears to be legitimate, employers have done their duty and don't have to probe any further.
"It's a big problem," said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Immigration Studies. "It guts the intent of the law."
Jim Chaparro, interim special agent in charge of the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Denver, said investigators encounter many businesses that simply assume paperwork provided by workers is legitimate. But he also noted that employers could risk a discrimination complaint by inquiring about whether an applicant is in the country illegally.

It seems to me this administration is keeping so many issues going at once knowing they will eventually sneak this one behind our backs. This is the most disgusting display of out and out arrogance and disregard for the American people I've ever seen.

It seems to me this administration is so kind and compassionate toward terrorists, making sure we kiss their backsides while they are in our prisons, yet when millions of middle class america, democrat and republicans protest high taxes this elitist snob laughs at them and thinks this is all about him. Fox covered tea parties because they were NEWS, that's what NEWS stations do, cover news, they don't slant it and pick and choose what they cover.

If it's good for Mexico that would be equal treatment wouldn't it?
Mexico welcomes only foreigners who will be useful to Mexican society:
Foreigners are admitted into Mexico "according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress." (Article 32)
Immigration officials must "ensure" that "immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance" and for their dependents. (Article 34)
Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets "the equilibrium of the national demographics," when foreigners are deemed detrimental to "economic or national interests," when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when "they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy." (Article 37)
The Secretary of Governance may "suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest." (Article 38)
Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:
Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)
A National Population Registry keeps track of "every single individual who comprises the population of the country," and verifies each individual's identity. (Articles 85 and 86)
A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).
Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:
Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)
Foreigners who sign government documents "with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses" are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)
Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:
Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)
Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)
Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121).
Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico -- such as working with out a permit -- can also be imprisoned. Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,
"A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally." (Article 123)-

We are a country of policy and laws that don't equal or even come close to other nations when it comes to immigration and diplomatic immunity ,we have become a open door mat for the world and our politicians are self serving corrupt leeches who only fight to protect their own interests,if you break any laws outside the USA you can find yourself in jail and beating and tortured without any rule of law to protect you,meanwhile we have millions of illegal immigrants who are criminals breaking our laws and getting away because of our policies on immigration,in essence our laws are more useful to outsiders!
