The windmills DO NOT provide power for the valley. Electricity is actually incredibly expensive, especially in the summer time. It is also hot. If you were reading this story in the northern US, Canada or UK and were thinking about visiting any time after May, DO NOT. I'm not talking put on a pair of shorts and sandals and everything will be ok hot, i'm talking you can literally fry an egg on the sidewalk (really), and people and pets literally DIE when left in parked cars during summer. The hottest I've ever seen it is 128f or 53 Celsius. Starting in May and continuing until sometimes October/November (the hottest days from July-late September) it is common to have days around 115f (46 C) and nights 98 f (36 C) Many times the "Low" temperature of 98f wouldn't even be reached until 3am. In the winter, it would be hard to find a more desirable vacation destination, but do yourself a favor and don't visit after April. Seriously.
