Maine's legislature is bringing marriage equality to its people. If the trend continues, progress will be made in numerous states. Maine could make history by being the first state to repeal a DOMA. Good luck to Maine and all the people who call it home.

loyd, Here is a site that gives you state by state divorce rates. I think if you actually read it you will see that Massachusetts has the lowest divorce rate of any state in the union. D.C. has a lower rate but not by much. I guess this is god's way of punishing us, ha, ha, ha!

I never thought I'd ever see it anywhere in the U.S. in my lifetime. It's overwhelming, really, to know that I could actually marry my partner if I chose to do so. I'm 48, and I've been fighting for my rights my entire adult life. I could die a happy man today, knowing (that my country is no longer in the hands of a dangerous lunatic and) that we have made such great progress (in spite of forces working against us).

I certainly hope I do see full equality in my lifetime. But I'm also at full acceptance that we may never get there before I die. Too many nutballs are in entrenched power here in the south. They are beholden to the mega-church cults that have sprung up everywhere. So no, I don't ever expect full equality in my lifetime.
...and that's too bad.-

Good. May we soon have the same rights extended to those who represent the Gay community. A gay marriage doesn't threaten my marriage in any way. Nor does it threaten my family. No one is forcing your church to perform the marriages or recognize them.

If you truly believe what your bible says about God creating all things, that means he created Adam and Steve as well as Adam and eve. All means all. Not just what you perceive as right. -
