No. He's just paying attention to the facts and reality of how Israel is treating Gaza. It's not far off from a walled ghetto. Anyone who's read the history and facts surrounding Nazi Germany and the ghettos can see the simliarities. But that would require being honest about the facts of the situation instead of having a knee-jerk "ISRAEL FIRST AND ALWAYS!" reaction.

The Warsaw Ghetto was composed of Jews forced out of their homes and herded into one small section of the city.

Gaza is composed largely of refugees and their descendents, most of whom were forced to flee their homes during the 1948 war.

Like the Ghetto, in the last decade the Gaza Strip has been surrounded by a barrier that has literally imprisoned 1.5 million in a territory that has become one of the most densely populated in the world.

Once the war started, Gazan civilians were trapped within a war zone, while Israel - crucially, with Egyptian help - had full command of the territory in and around Gaza. This situation prompted comparisons with the absolute Nazi control of the Ghetto and its surrounding area during the uprising.

Increasing restrictions on food, water and medical supplies by the Israeli military, and severe levels of malnutrition and unemployment "evoked" memories of the Nazi's slow strangulation of the Ghetto, as Richard Falk described it.

Even the tunnels of Gaza have been compared to those used by Jews to smuggle food and other essential goods into the Ghetto from the "Aryan side".

      -----

The February 29, 2008 warning by Matan Vilnai, Israel's deputy defence minister, that Palestinians risked "bringing an even bigger Shoah" (the Hebrew word for Holocaust) upon themselves if they did not stop firing Qassam rockets into Israel, reveals that Israeli officials are well aware of the magnitude of the suffering they have inflicted on the people of Gaza.

      -----

The only place it falls short of comparison to Nazi Germany is the sheer scale of genocide perpetrated by the Nazis (20 times more Jews starved or died from lack of medicine, treatment, et cetera, in the Ghettos -- That doesn't include the millions killed in the gas chambers).

There's even a film with that title:
        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaza_ghetto

        Good film.

          Dionys

          One big difference.
The Jews were not trying to destroy the German race of people.
They were being eliminated by a satanic leader and followers of that leader who would be Hitler.

          Here we have a difference.
The Jews are being attacked in their homeland after countless attempts to broker a peace with their neighbors who want to kill and destroy the Jews.

Some will say it is not their homeland, well some will say there is no God either.
          Both are wrong !!!!!!!

Why do you defend the actions of the ones who want to destroy God's chosen people ?? You state you are a Catholic priest.

Do you not know that in the last days many will turn against Israel, that those who do will be almost completely wiped out by GOD ???

          Ezekiel 39:1-10

          Gog's Armies Destroyed

39 "And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says the Lord God: "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal; 2 and I will turn you around and lead you on, bringing you up from the far north, and bring you against the mountains of Israel. 3 Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand. 4 You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. 5 You shall fall on the open field; for I have spoken," says the Lord God. 6 "And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the Lord. 7 So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the Lord, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Surely it is coming, and it shall be done," says the Lord God. "This is the day of which I have spoken.

9 "Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make fires with them for seven years. 10 They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage those who pillaged them," says the Lord God.

Dionys, or, as I call him "I'm not a Muslim, yet, desperately defend Islam", is HIGHLY willing to believe anything anti-Israel or anti-American even IF it comes from those who believe "war is deceit" because their prophet Muhammad SAID war was deceit.

Governments, by their nature, should always be suspect. Israel is no different in this regard.

Quite frankly, you can lump all religions into that pot also. It's all about controlling people.

True. But it's Islam that makes it far more personal than one would like.

Do you have proof that either are wrong? Or do you consider all your opinions to be facts?

                J4A:

Those who see the truth being told need no proof. For the truth is in what is happening as it was foretold.

But to those who seek to deny what is true there can never be the understanding needed to see what is true.

My "opinions" are not opinions but fact. The lies spread by those who deny the truth are opinions. They are opinions based on the rejection of what is true.

But then again, the blind will not see because they cannot, the deaf will not hear because they cannot, the so called wisdom of the world deceives those who consider themselves wise.

I didn't think you could answer that. So you have no proof. Just as I expected.
My opinions are fact.. bla bla bla. Yeah right. Stop hiding from reality.

                    J4A:

When you pass from the flesh to eternity you will have your proof.
Sadly by then you will be sorry for your lack of wisdom and knowledge that you think you have now.

Embrace the ways of the world and you embrace death.

                    But like the Bible says.

                    Luke 10: 21-24

21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 22 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him."

23 Then He turned to His disciples and said privately, "Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see; 24 for I tell you that many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it."

Reality is beyond your concept, for you cannot see beyond the lies of the world.

Cowboy -- We're going to have to disagree on using the Bible to 'prove' Israel belongs to the Jews. I think Israel should belong to the people who've lived there over the centuries -- Palestinians, Arabs and Jews alike with an actual democracy determining the power structure. I have no problem with it being Israel. Nor for it to exist as a place for European Jews (or as the case is mostly American Jews) to return as a group.

I would love, by the way, to see exactly where in the Bible it asserts the specific land boundaries of what you assert belongs to the Jews. Then I'd love to hear your explanation of how you're supporting the Jews by using the Bible to justify their claims knowing full well that Christians believe that those in that area will suffer the horrors of Armageddon. I know you're not one of those nutjobs, but usualy the people who so vehemently support Israel and look the other way from their crimes are often quiet supporters of armageddon and the modern idea of a 'rapture' (despite nothing in the Bible about it).

                      >I think Israel should belong to the people who've lived there over the centuries -- Palestinians, Arabs and Jews alike with an actual democracy determining the power structure.

If you really think so, Dionys, you'll have to exclude the Palestinians from your formula as 'Palestinians' DID NOT live in Israel over the centuries. They were invented in the late 1960s and the first (and only) official definition of 'Palestinians' says that Palestinians are Arabs who lived in Palestine for at least two years prior to 1948 as well as their descendants.

Further, Israel ALREADY belongs to the people who live there, Arabs and Jews alike with actual democracy determining the power structure. ALL Israeli citizens, Arabs and Jews alike, have the very same rights guaranteed by Israeli laws.

                      > I have no problem with it being Israel. Nor for it to exist as a place for European Jews (or as the case is mostly American Jews) to return as a group.

This is good as ANY state has the right to determine who will and who will not have the right to settle within its boundaries, even Israel. Those who do not like Israeli immigration policies should go to a place they like more.

                      >I would love, by the way, to see exactly where in the Bible it asserts the specific land boundaries of what you assert belongs to the Jews.

Can you show us where it asserts that the land within these (or any other) boundaries) belongs to the Arabs, Dissent? To say hte truth, it does not really make any difference to me as I beleive that ALL land on this planet belongs to ALL people living here. We MUST, however, recognize the right of people, families, tribes and communities to live the way they like and create states which have governments, laws, national languages, etc. We MUST recognize the right of these states to create mutually acceptable boundaries between each one of these states and their neighbors.

Did you read the Palestinian Constitution (the PLO Charter) or the Hamas Charter lately, Dionys? BOTH demand derstruction of the Jewish state while the latter demands KILLING of any Jew.

This means that someone is lying here, either the Palestinian Constitution(s) or Dionys... Who is it, in your opinion?
