Progressive is another word for ultra left or even socialist. Having the most qualified person doesn't matter. Race, color, sexual orientation and the like are all that matters. That is until they need the help. I've never seen a liberal in a hospital needing bypass surgery asking for the surgeon that was hired because he or she met race or gender requirements. They, like the rest of us want the very best.

Progressive is generally applied to the left since FDR, but it is only the far right that insists it is synonymous with socialist.
