Every time you religious fanatics sticks your head into the so called holy books you loose sight of your own reality, come on now people ,what god. We are the gods and control our own lives, everything we have read was written by man and not by god or for god, some of these authors were intelligent and some were idiot story tellers of fables. We are a social species and have a common fault of believing the centuries of brainwashing bs ,that some savvy scholars of old used to control the masses, the only way we will ever get over this mind quest and evolve is by our own common sense ,yes folks you have it and it didn't come from any god.As for the holy books i find some of the content interesting and useful!

You can let Jesus get you off the hook OR you can own up and take responsibility.
You know what? I think I need to take responsibility for my own sins. I appreciate Jesus dying for the sins of others, but I don't need to add my burden to that.
Thanks, I'll take the judgement. I'll stand on my own merits rather than buying an "indulgement." But hey, that requires that I actually live a decent life. So be it. -

(("Is the judgment of God an outdated concept?")) For those whom read the bible it has been an outdated concept since the Lord Jesus sacrificed himself to save us all.

(("After all, you don't hear the vast majority of Christians talking about it anymore.")) I don't think in this lifetime you ever did but that's a topic for a whole 'nother thread.
(("You certainly don't hear about it from most of today's television preachers. Mostly they seem to be concerned about "living your best life" and getting as many "blessings" as possible.")) Unless you are hinting at selfishness and getting rich it may be that those evangelist are actually reading the Bible now.
(("So is the idea of an all-knowing, all-powerful God that will ultimately judge all of humanity a concept that society is now moving past?")) Any concern I would have is that if GOD himself has "moved past" that concept. GOD is not going to act in accordance with any poll taken. He coarse is already set in stone. -
