Business Insider reports that more than one Chrysler senior creditor has corroborated Thomas Lauria’ s allegation that the Obama administration threatened them with public attacks if they didn’ t surrender their contractual rights. One of their sources says that the Obama team comprises some of the worst “ ends justify the means” people he’ s ever encountered (via HA reader Geoff A):

"The sources, who represent creditors to Chrysler, say were taken aback by the hardball tactics that the Obama administration employed to cajole them into acquiescing to plans to restructure Chrysler. One person said described the administration as the most shocking “end justifies the means” group they have ever encountered. Another characterized Obama was “the most dangerous smooth talker on the planet- and I knew Kissinger.” Both were voters for Obama in the last election."
"One participant in negotiations said that the administration’s tactic was to present what one described as a “madman theory of the presidency” in which the President is someone to be feared because he was willing to do anything to get his way. The person said this threat was taken very seriously by his firm." -

And this Rasmussen poll indicates people don't think Obama and the union will do a good job of running Chrysler.

The question is, who is going to buy them besides the government? Note, I didn't include the union people on purpose the members on the line will know better. The union hierarchy will have to have classier and more expensive rigs. Actually, I understand the union intends to sell their part of Chrysler, asap.

if we are going to fork over billions, then why shouldn't we put tons of restrictions and conditions on that money? its better than just handing over $4 billion with absolutely no oversight at all, like original the Bush/Paulson plan. that's just stupid.

which is hilarious coming from someone who works for chrysler. talk about the "end justify the means." that's their entire business model. the bottom line is all they are worried about.

Did you even bother to read the article before you posted. These are people who lent money to Chrysler BEFORE the bailout. Can you explain your position why they shouldn't be the first leinholders and receive appropriate compensation when bankruptcy is filed? -

The repugs can't do anything but moan and grown and make up stories about the big,bad, Obama. One person said this, one person said that bla, bla, bla.
I hear Obama is personally building a really big prison and is personally going to round up all the gun owners and christans and white guys and put them in jail. Another person who voted for Obama told me of plans to build a rocket ship and put rush limpballs in it and send it into the sun. Another Obama "supporter" (who is oh so sorry she was deceived by "the one" ) said she heard from a muslim that she met yesterday at the mall that " Obama is going to turn the country over to bin laden for $10,000,000" and move to Alaska and kill Sara and take over the state. -

This is good because all the bs backfired and Chrysler is were it should have been last year,now all the inside crap can be untangled in court,also as of this fiasco GM will come clean and provide a realistic restructuring plan or face the courts!
