Joe The Plumber Slurs Gay People: I Would Never Let "Queers" Near My Children »
Posted By TimALoftis 9 months, 1 week ago in Political NewsJoe the Plumber, aka Samuel Wurzelbacher, sat down for an lengthy interview with Christianity Today to discuss his views on the future of the Republican party. Wurzelbacher took the opportunity to speak out against gay marriage, which he says is wrong. The unlikely conservative spokesman went so far as to say he doesn't allow openly gay people "anywhere near" his children.
The word "queer," Wurzelbacher noted, "means strange and unusual."
Christianity Today: In the last month, same-sex marriage has become legal in Iowa and Vermont. What do you think about same-sex marriage at a state level?
Wurzelbacher: At a state level, it's up to them. I don't want it to be a federal thing. I personally still think it's wrong. People don't understand the dictionary--it's called queer. Queer means strange and unusual. It's not like a slur, like you would call a white person a honky or something like that. You know, God is pretty explicit in what we're supposed to do--what man and woman are for. Now, at the same time, we're supposed to love everybody and accept people, and preach against the sins. I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children. But at the same time, they're people, and they're going to do their thing.

Wow. Why are people still listening to this moron? He is not a politician. He is not a public servant. He is a man who was dragged into the public spotlight by an out of control republican campaign. Let him go back to the sticks where he belongs. I am sure that those "friends" of his would rather be spat upon than be anywhere near that bigoted baffoon.

Queer is our word. We took it back. It has no meaning in the mouth of a fool like this guy. -

Is this any worse than the smears tossed at Ms. California by the gay activists for daring to give her honest opinion about what she thinks marriage is?
Reply
On Tuesday’s CBS Early Show, co-host Julie Chen talked to gay blogger Perez Hilton about his question to Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean about gay marriage: "Miss California, Carrie Prejean, decided to tell gay blogger and judge Perez Hilton what she really felt about same-sex marriage, and it might have cost her the Miss USA crown...Hilton reacted angrily after the show, posting this video blog on his website." Chen played a clip of Hilton’s video blog tirade in which he said he was "disappointed" in Prejean, but not the portion in which the blogger called her a "dumb b***h."
Chen also failed to mention that during live coverage on MSNBC on Monday, Hilton declared that he was not sorry for using that language and even went on to say that he wished he had used the "c-word" to describe Prejean. Chen only vaguely alluded to Hilton’s vulgarity as she asked her first question: "Perez, let me begin with you. When you first heard her answer, what did you think? And please keep it clean, this is a live morning program."-

STRAIGHT bashing by gays is just as bad as gay bashing by straights. They BOTH need to get over it and let each other live their own lives.
Reply
Perez set the gay cause back 100 years although I didn't agree with Ms. California, she stated her thoughts rationally unlike Perez did. -

I didn't think you'd care about what the left does, you're only focus is towards the right, that's what makes you so far from being credible. Especially after you follow me around like a wounded puppy doing exactly what you say I'm doing,,,,,,,, most of your posts start with "after 8 years of Bush" in your constant blind defense of the present administration.
Reply
BTW my support for gay marriage is much more level headed than your abject of anyone that believes that gay issues aren't correct. All the left knows is hatred for those that don't toe the line of their agenda,,,,, the case of Ms Ca and the left's reaction and personal attacks is a good example of it. -

Slate - On the issue of Perez Hilton insulting Miss California about her personal views of gay marriage, I happen to agree with you. It should have no bearing at all on the selection of Miss USA.
Reply
However, this diverts attention from the fact that gays are, in fact, the group that has been persecuted and had their civil rights trampled on. The heterosexual majority has no right to destroy the civil rights of the homosexual minority.
For the exact identical reason that Perez Hilton was wrong to insult Miss Prejean, so it was wrong for Joe (or Samuel) Wurzelbacher to insult gays

Then you're poorly educated.
Male pedophiles aren't gay. The vast majority of them are heterosexual, even though they prey on boys.
Pedophilia's about power, not sex. Go educate yourself. -

jmopinion - You are conflating "homosexuality" with "pedophilia."
Reply
A gay man is sexually attracted to other men, not to children. A pedophile is not attracted to other men (most pedophiles are men), but to children.
Your children and any child are safer with a true homosexual than with a professed heterosexual who is secretly a pedophile. -

Hilarious, if it weren't so ignorant and intolerant. Funny that these "queers" have been around since the beginning of time and no amount of intolerance has changed their general number. But if your like Joe you just have your kids raised in an insular world. But is that even possible? Even realistic? Statistics bear out that some of their childhood friends are going to be gay. Sending them to Christian school isn't cutting those chances either. Does this mean that they then weed the "queers" out of the flock? No, they just fix 'em (lol)! Or have the choir director counsel them privately on being different!
But the really sad part is the Joe is not alone, he can still draw the "tea party" clowns out. Probably drum up 100 people at any given right wing talk show. He is the lightweight, male, Palin. Always indignant, always angry, just "mad as hell", And like Sarah, no real, solid, thought behind that pointed anger. Hatin' on "queers" will actually give him further cred with his ilk but they are all moving toward the extremes anyway. And although it will make them less relevant politically, as that occurs it also will make them more likely to lash out.
"Joe" misrepresented himself from the start. His plumbing business was hardly thriving and it wasn't because of the tax load. But he's "the real deal" to some. I hope he keeps talking for awhile. Same for Sarah Palin. The more they speak out, the better. -

The American people as a majority do not stand for homosexuality. You are saying what most Americans believe and would say in your place.
I would not let queersexuals near any children either. Thats not a good influence for them.

Really? Got in writing the names of that "majority" which allows you to speak for them? And by the way; this isn't a pure democracy. Doesn't matter what that majority in your head thinks.

People like Joe the Plumber and Miss California are what we need more of, who are not afraid to stand up to degenerate ways and imoral lifestyles.

Its not hatefull to preserve the American Family structure and to want to raise our kids the right way, not the gay way. Marriage should be, and is between a man and a woman and is sacred. Marriage is how families are begun. We take away our family structure and what remains? A society with no values and a bunch of Adults who wernt raised right as kids. Thats part of the problem with America today nobody believes in anything anymore. Too many people have no family values.
Time we make a stand!
God bless you Joe the Plumber , where ever you are!-

Forgive my lengthy response, but I have much to say:
Reply
It is hateful Rebel. I, as the gay son of a fundamentalist Baptist preacher, know that all too well. I was raised in church; sent to a Christian school; read articles about the "homosexual agenda" and how they are destroying everything good and decent; and heard sermons about how homosexuals need to be stoned. I have a sister who will not allow me to touch my nephew. I was tormented as a faggot at my Christian school. My parents (although we maintain a loving a supportive relationship) send money to Christian organizations who spend millions of dollars to strip me of any rights or dignity. Although I live my day to day life just like everyone else, I abide by the law, work hard and am committed wholehartedly to my partner of 9 years - these groups try to convince everyone that I am a deviant, pedophile, sex-crazed terrorist, and am against all that is good in this world. I hear people like Joe and Mss California say such things and I wonder "why?" What have I ever done to any of them?
So, you think that no one believes in anything anymore? Well I believe in something. I believe that you should treat your fellow human beings the way that you would like to be treated. I believe that no group should be branded with blanket accusations just because they are different from you. I believe that love doesn't build walls. And I will stand up and say so because if you deny someone to be around your child just because they are gay then you are treating them as a leper and metaphorically casting them out of the city walls. You immediately assume that someone who is gay must have chosen to be so. Well I can promise you, I never chose to be this way. I am proud to be so now, but I was driven to the point of suicide in my youth because I listened to people like you who are "just standing up for family values" and let you convince me that I was sick and disgusting. No more.
If you believe that homosexuality is wrong. Fine, that is absolutely your prerogative. I have no problem with that because I neither request nor require your approval. If you feel the need to stand up for your beliefs, I say you have every right as an American to do so and I would stand with you against anyone who tried to take that right away from you. But I will stand up too and let you know that anyone who feels they have to "protect" their child from a homosexual goes far beyond simply imparting their beliefs - they are creating an underclass of fellow citizens, they are teaching their kids to fear and hate anyone they don't understand, and they are quite possibly psychologically damaging that child (if he or she happens to be gay) in ways you can not imagine. There is nothing respectable about that! -

Did you know the lady in Florida that begged the President for a house and a car owned apartment buildings in NJ? Did you also know it was a Republican that gave her someplace to live and NOT the President? Why wasn't this in the media? Why wasn't she bashed when they found out she had just sold a building for a $40,000 profit?

well hes right,God bless joe the plumber,I have never let any queers around my children either, they are sick, its a sin, they reject Jesus, that is why they are queer, the devil has them blinded and jesus is the only cure for queers, they reject him and the bible says that rejection of God is why he turned them over to a reprobate mind and they burn in lust for their own sex because they are a wicked sinful people, and the majority of america does know that sexaul preversion is not normal and never will be and we will fight it till the Lord takes us home, and they all will burn in hell

You are a huge stumbling block to the spread of Christianity with your hateful, twisted views and attitudes! You are not helping to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Who was loving, tolerant and forgiving of all people. If He were still here in the flesh, you would be one of the ones agitating to crucify Him because He associated Himself with publicans and sinners!

There is something I have since I was old enough to question it... if hell is a real place, as you profess, then why would you want ANYONE to go there? I have witnessed so many Christians (not all by any means) get giddy over the idea of someone they don't like going to hell. It is beyond my comprehension. There are a lot of people I get angry at, dislike, and don't understand... but I can think of no person that I would WANT to suffer for all eternity in such a manner. The fact that you desire that for an entire group of people proves how much you demonize us.
Reply
But your post is instructive. You use hell, as many Christians use much of the Bible, to inflate your own righteousness and excuse your preconceived notions and biases. The Bible has been used to condone many heinous and very un-Christlike practices throughout history. Pharisees used Scripture as a psychological weapon and Jesus rebuked them for it.
By the way, how do you know you have never let "queers" around your children? Unlike race, homosexuality is not always easily discernable. Anyone around you, whether open or closeted, may be gay whithout any outward sign. Not all of us fit the stereotypes nor feel any need to advertise it. That fact makes discimination against us more difficult (you can't shove us to the back of a bus or assign us separate water fountains). The only thing you can do is attempt to shut us up and people like you were successful in that for far too long. No more. I am an American citizen and I will not shut up. I will call you on your hypocrisy because I see none of the love of Christ in you.

My Fellow Americans: I wouldn't worry too much about gun control at this point because I don't think President Michelle Obama really wants the entire United States mad at her at this time. She finally, got her husband to take over another major project, the weeding of her garden. Just something else he want to put on his plate. Soon he'll have tomatoes, radishes, corn, (for grits) and other healthy choices. It doesn't matter if they do ban guns because once they do the Economy will pick up drastically with the next free enterprise, (The Black Market For Guns), no pun intended. We have to be patient, in four years, Obama will no longer be President. The President will be a Mexican Illegal led by either the Mexican Mafia Party or the Mexican Cartel Party. They will treat us right, parties, drugs, booze, barbecued pig, and hot chicks. Man we will be living it up. The Real American
