Limbaugh To Colin Powell: 'Become A Democrat' »

WASHINGTON (CNN) - Rush Limbaugh fired back at Colin Powell for his critical comments earlier this week, saying Wednesday that the former secretary of state should join the Democratic Party.

"What Colin Powell needs to do is close the loop and become a Democrat instead of claiming to be a Republican interested in reforming the Republican Party," Limbaugh said on his radio show Wednesday.

Limbaugh also took aim at Powell's decision to endorse President Obama over John McCain during the presidential election, repeating his earlier sentiment that Powell's move was "solely based on race."

"He's just mad at me because I'm the one person in the country who had the guts to explain his endorsement of Obama," Limbaugh said. "It was purely and solely based on race."

During a speech on Monday, Powell said the "the Republican Party is in deep trouble" and said the GOP would be better off without Limbaugh, according to a report by the National Journal.

I'd respect Powell a whole lot more than I do now if he left that party of pukes.

As the de-facto leader of the Republicans Rush's words should have a great deal of weight(pun accidental but OK). Apparently Steele has relinquished spending control and thus has become pretty much of a figurehead. Eric Cantor has bowed and kissed the ring. He's now saying his new initiative is not a "listening tour" because Rush doesn't like that term. What a sad group they are. Powell would be well served to get out of the sinking ship.

The porcine pedophile is president of a fraternity of freaks.

Amazingly, this lying principleless fat coward sits on his bleeding cyst popping oxycotton all day, raving and ranting which ever way the wind blows, its all a charade, designed precicely to entertain and attract other uneducated white suprema-cysts, former KKK militia gun nuts, and other closet homosexual perverts back from girlyboy tours of Bancok.

Jesus on a jet ski, what a charade the party of cons. What a massive circle jerk.

Rush is going to overplay his hand. At some point, Republicans will begin to see the light and confront this man. Rush doesn't care about the Republican party. All he cares about is his inflated ego.

The purification of the Republican party continues at the hands of its leader - the exalted one.

El Rushbo leading the party is appropriate as they scramble to appeal to an audience.

Who has the largest audience among rural, undereducated Right wing voters?

              Instant "leader".

The odor of desperation is pungent and sad.

Colin Powell was a man which when he showed his true colors about the war in Iraq and all the lying, gained the respect of people on both sides of the politcal spectrum. To me he offered a bit of hope that politicians may not all be quite as bad as we normally think. Come on Rush get with the program the world is changing and in the last little while your are beginning to really show your true colors, you are so opposed to change you are a dinosaur and not only a dinosaur but a racist dinosaur.
I have great respect for true conservative values and many people who call themselves conservatives and I don't think that he even understands that what he preaches is not the way that many conservative minded people think.

Last week Cantor, Romney, Jeb Bush and others were talking about traveling the Country and listening to what fellow conservatives were saying. Then came along Rush saying the Party should not be listening to but should be educating the Republicans. A day later Cantor suddenly backtracks and announces that this is not a 'Listening Tour'.

Wow...a political party that does not want to listen to its members. Now that is an interesting concept.

Some interesting assertions by ditto heads show how their reasoning works.

Rush Limbaugh is popular therefore he is correct but so were Mao, and Hitler. Popularity has nothing to do with whether or not you're ideas have real merit. If you pander to people's base instincts, you'll get a response. This doesn't make you a sage who is full of wisdom. Just a Pied Piper of knuckle heads

Rush Limbaugh has a 400 million dollar contract therefore he is a success. But again, financial success doesn't make you or your reasoning sound. Its irrelevant. Howard Stern is rich and popular for being a potty mouth. Michael Jackson once had a contract that was potentially worth a billion dollars from Sony records.

When a conservative doesn't receive ordainment from Rush, screw them, they aren't real conservatives anyway. Yes, and this is why your party is steadily shrinking. No one is allowed to think for themselves. Everything you need to know on how to be a conservative is already figured out, you just need to follow Rush. Rush's attitude is no compromise. He deprecates moderates as mushy, and unprincipled never realizing that maybe they judge ideas on their merits and how well they actually work versus some arbitrary orthodoxy like don't mess with markets and stick to this idea no matter what. Moderates understand that no one has a monopoly on wisdom and compromise is a reality in any social system but they also understand that some times it is better to get something a little at a time rather than going for the whole enchilada at once. My way or the highway works best in dictatorships.

Getting back to the point, however. If conservatives think they can regain control of this country by excommunicating more members and alienating more constituents by remaining extremist, they have a strange idea of how democracy works and are mathematically challenged. They also are not good students of history as America is almost always governed from the center. Obama overwhelmingly took the youth demographic and they are the future. Young people have traditionally been apathetic as voters but were a pivotal constituency in this election because they were excited and energized by his candidacy and very well organized because they know how to make use of the internet and social networking to move masses of people to action. Rush appeals to crusty old white guys and is pretty much contemptuous of all others including women. He is a thinly veiled misogynist and a racist. This is a shrinking demographic. If the Republican party has any interest in regaining the white house, their going to have to tailor their message to people who aren't greedy, aren't red necks, do believe that preserving the environment is important, support pluralism and diversity, and don't believe that America is incapable of error or can do whatever we like in foreign policy because after all, every other country in the world is not as good as we are and they're all a bunch of wimps.

As for Powell I called him a racist long before Rush did.I was following, and cheering Powell's carear before most of you creeps were born.He voted for Obama strictly based on color. He would have spit on a white candadate from either party who held the same views as Obama

Purity must be maintained. Purges must continue. The Party can have but one voice, and that voice is the voice of Rush, as it has ever been. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.

Judging from the names of some of most of the people on here and their comments, I can tell that the intelligence level of today is in the toliet. It seems like their education stopped at 3rd grade. Want to see typical democrat? Watch MTV's College Life. Yes, I know. It is one of the biggest reasons for the dumbing down of the current generation. There is a guy on there from a very conservative family. His mother is Jamaican and his father is white. His mother works two jobs to pay part of his tuition and he is supposed to pay the rest. While his mother is killing herself to get him an education he goes and spends $2400 on a tattoo. He also agrees with Obama. Does anyone see the correlation? He, like Obama, have no economic sense. That was off topic but it really shows the mindset of the typical liberal. They don't have any concept of hard work or money. They believe someone is supposed to provide for them so they can sit around and party. I'm only 24 by the way. With all the name calling by the liberals on here I feel like I am back in 3rd grade. They can't say anything good about their own party. If you can't hold a legitimate argument then that means there isn't one. Liberals need to actually go to college and get a real education. Learn something instead of being stupid.
