b-happy - Why didn't GW Bush finish the job when he sent our forces into Afghanistan in the first place? Remember Osama bin Laden was on the run, hiding for his life in caves. The al Qaida organization was decimated. Remember the playing cards with the top al Qaida leaders on the cards who were systematically being hunted down and eliminated?

Why in the world did Bush suddenly stop the hunt and divert his attention to Iraq??
Iraq had no connection to the 9/11 attack. Saddam despised Osama bin Laden and kept him at arm's length. Saddam had no WMD's. Osama bin Laden was and still is the most dangerous terrorist in the world, not Saddam Hussein.
Now al Qaida has regrouped and replenished their command and their forces. The Taliban is reclaiming the countryside of Afghanistan and the government has little power outside of Kabul. The poppy harvest last year was a record and supplies funding for both al Qaida and the Taliban.
What an idiot Bush was to abandon the hunt for OBL. Why didn't he "stay the course" in Afghanistan? Now we are seeing the consequences of his monumental error. Obama has no choice but to finish the job of killing OBL.
I am not saying that killing civilians is to be brushed aside or covered up. I am saying that much of this accidental killing could have been avoided if Bush had killed OBL while he was holed up in the mountains AWAY FROM CIVILIANS.
Back then, most of the civilian population, the villagers, had no love of the Taliban, their imposition of Sharia, and the presence of al Qaida. Now that the terrorists have intermingled with or are hiding among civilians, the casualty rate will go up and cause even more hatred against USA.
I repeat. Bush made a monumental error in letting OBL live.

I do understand that the Taliban and like insurgents,do hide amongst civilians,but the USA and UK troops really need to take more care.Apart from all the unnecessary and heart breaking deaths of innocents,it also radicalizes disenfranchised,(as they see it),male youth.This is acting like a reserve force for the Taliban.

After the charade of September 11th 2001 the United States lost all sense of humanity and reason. We are the same lieing murderous killers now as we were under Bush/Cheney. There is no democracy in America, we live under a prepetual ruling elite run by corporations for the personal profit of those at the top.

One moment here,this is not a regular war were the enemy is on a clear field of fire and only soldiers are dead center,this is however a urban warfare were these cowards are hiding behind civilians or maybe they are militants who use civilians for cover ,we seen this before in gaza and its time you people understand the tactics used by these militants,people will die in war and that's a sad fact,maybe you would have a better insight if your azz was in Afghanistan or Pakistan,you cant have it both ways, maybe we should pull out and let those a-holes blow them selves to hell!

Daylight, Hyperbulla, Dionys where are you? Muslim civilians are being killed and not a word from you! If it were Israelis fighting under the same conditions of insurgents hiding among civilians, your little fingers would be bleeding while you typed and typed about the poor civilians that were being killed. Where are you now to protect the innocent. Are Palestinian lives any different from Pakistani lives? Or is it that civilians really aren't your agenda? You are the worst hypocrites.

I'm a Jew and want a secure Israel and also a viable Palestinian state.It doesn't matter to me who commits unjust acts,they are equally despicable.A bomb that crushes a village in Pakistan,Afghanistan,Gaza,or a rocket smashing into an Israeli village,are all acts worthy of nothing but revulsion.

Somehow we need to mend this broken World and that is only going to begin when we start considering each other.Regardless of which nation,religion,skin color etc,we belong to.Financial collapse,environmental degradation,climate change,poverty,war etc, do not recognize borders,they are just constructs of peoples political imaginations.There's one World,we are one species,that live in a global environment.We are in a state of interconnectedness,where we do things,blind to the domino effects we may set in action.It's time we all grew up and looked at the state the World is in.It's time to look inside of ourselves to see what we really want.! -

I've made it clear that I deplore the deaths of any civilians on any side of such a conflict. However your assertion that this is a result of insurgents hiding among civilians is (as usual) a lie. These women and children were specifically moved into houses away from the fighting between Afghani police and Afghani/Pakistani Taliban. It wasn't collateral damage, and it wasn't striking at insurgents and then accidentally killing civilians. It was a horrific mistake of targeting a group of people who were in no way involved with the hostilities.

But you only decry the ones killed by Israel. You ignore the thousands of Jews killed and maimed by terrorists. You just brush that aside as a cause for what Israel does. You ignore that the terrorists as part of their charters call for the death of all Jews.

Thousands? Perhaps since 2000. I think any death, whether Jew or Palestinian, semitic, African, Caucasian, et cetera is a horrific matter. Especially innocents taken in time of war.
Perhaps you don't hear me talking about the Jews because the reality of the situation is that the number of Palestinians killed in each conflict numbers more than a hundred times the number of Jews killed in the same conflict. For example in the last Gaza attack by Israel (where Israel broke the truce), 1300+ Palestinians were killed and 13 Jews. Horrific for both sides of the conflict, for all the families involved.

A small minority of extremists call for the death of the Jews. Or at least that's what you claim given the translation you've been given. Let's pretend, even, that this translation is correct (there are arguments that it's not) -- If a very small number of extremists within Gaza call for the death of the Jews in their charter, does that let you paint all Palestinians with the same brush? Does it justify a larger number of Jews calling for the destruction of Palestine, even if they don't put it in a ' charter'?
Does it justify the ACTUAL ACTIONS of Israel against Gaza, all of which point to Israel wanting to destroy Gaza? Actions speak louder than words, and in this case the actions of a few extremists in Gaze match their extremist words, but the actions of extremists in Israel speak much louder than any words that are lacking.

No. You lie. More Endo-al-taqqiya, no surprise. I'm certain some terrorists use human shields. However in this case, the Red Cross, the UN and the Afghani police all say they moved the women and children into the houses when gunfire broke out between the Afghani Police and the Taliban. This isn't about some fight between Israel and Gaza, it's about the Afghani police in a shootout with the Taliban protecting the Afghani Police's village's women and children.
What's your excuse for lying?
