Sessions Thought KKK Was OK Until He Found Out They Smoked Pot »

When it became clear that Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) was poised to become ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, we recalled this article by Sarah Wildman which addresses some of the controversies that kept Sessions from being confirmed in 1986 as a U.S. District Court judge in Alabama. Surprise, Surprise, Shazayem!
If Sessions was unfit to serve as a district court judge in Alabama, how on earth should he be on the Senate Judiciary committee?
More hi jinks and chicanery from the anti science party.

If Session's questionable views and behavior on race were too scary for Alabama...good grief he should be nowhere near the Senate Judiciary Committee!

      RFE:

Even if Sessions had made a reversal similar to what the late Governor George Wallace "appeared" to have accomplished years ago at the height of the civil rights movement, he would not be fit for such an office. However, unlike Wallace, Sessions has barely acknowledged the extent of his bigoted conduct and abuse of power.

We must remember, an appointee for the judiciary committee is not on trial and his innocence need not be assumed. Blocking his nomination is not a sentence. It is a privilege of honor and distinction that one should be appointed to such a position of public trust.

Needless to say, when it comes to appointing anyone to a public office that require great trust and responsibility, it is always prudent to choose an individual that does not have a track record that is tainted with racism and abuse of power.

Everytime the man opens his mouth I cringe with
disturbing recollections from the era of the Civil
        Rights Movement..............now I know why.

As stated so elegantly by Spadecaller, this is a position of trust and honor...surely there are better choices.

I don't care which party you identify with, if the candidate is crooked, a bigot, or criminal you have to put "party" aside.
Frankly if there's a political story of any merit whatsoever, and the usual suspects didn't neg it I'd say we needed to call 911 cause they likely collapsed on the floor. Either fallen and can't get up, or deceased.
