Karl Frisch: 10 years after Matthew Shepard and media still can't get it right »

One pet peeve of mine that the media uses often is the idea of sexual preference, implying that gays and lesbians choose to be homosexual. Instead, I prefer the term sexual identity. That to me indicates that I identify myself as someone who is gay as opposed to bisexual, straight, or somewhere on a continuum of sexual identities. Even sexual orientation makes it seem as if I am on a compass and could some day be "cured" or pointed straight again.

I just used the name "Matthew Shepard" in a video I made for Muhammadtube today when a stalker posted my MySpace account to shut me up for talking about Islam. It was his way that he learned my full name, and, could possibly easily find out where I lived. I'm pretty sure the guy was Muhammadan, but, he accused me of "faggotry".
