      The evolution of the constitutional authority of the federal government from the regulation of interstate commerce to product liability is an interesting (and a textbook) study. There is no mysterious usurpaton of authority by the federal government.

        Credit rates are usually regulated by individual states. Here in Arkansas and in Oklahoma the states set a maximum usury rate. Unlike borrowing from your local bank or credit union, Credit cards are usually not local. My credit cards cross state lines on almost every transaction. That may not be a “movement of goods” between states, but the transaction does cross state lines. Does that therefor make it part of the federal purview?
