It surprises me that people would lie about reading this book.It is not difficult to read,Orwell being a journalist,uses a strait forward style,with simple language.It is of moderate size too.

Now something like "a brief history of time",I could understand.It has sold millions of copies and is a difficult,though interesting read.Then Orwell told stories,whilst Stephen Hawkins writes "theoretical physics",which isn't a subject known for it's great popularity.1984 of course is an excellent read and I agree, "anyone who hasn't read it",do yourself a favor and give it a go.
