It was indeed! (That is my standard "go to" set up)
Though Often I'll use plug ins (I use Steinberg Nuendo or Cubase as my main software) in the studio these days.

    Thanks! I am very fond of my Roland too, I was reluctant to go to a computer based system for probably the same reasons as you. If you look at my band's homepage at mightyparrotband.com there are links to hear our most recent CD. We recorded all the tracks on a Roland 16 track and achieved some very satisfying results. Opted to master it in protools, which allowed for some editing that would be much harder to do otherwise. To some degree I was forced to abandon my Roland to do some work that required HD audio (high sampling rates). I wouldn't have been able to do this soundtrack in my own studio for instance without a powerful computer based system. I had the film on one monitor while the audio related stuff was on the other. And of course the soundtrack is in 5.1 at higher sampling rates than the 44.1k of CDs. (Kind of ironic that sound in movies has a higher "standard" than audio CDs which document sound only...but that's another story right?)         LOL! I know the feeling. Not to make it worse, but when you decide to go that route I have nothing but praise for ADK pro audio. (I think it's adkproaudio.com for the web site). They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable and their systems are top notch (U2 relies on them for running the sequences in their live shows).
