Afghan-bound GIs Surge Ahead of Gear »
Posted By rumple4skin 7 months, 3 weeks ago in NewsCAMP LEATHERNECK, Afghanistan -- Thousands of U.S. troops are being rushed to Afghanistan without the equipment they will need to fight an emboldened Taliban, U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and military officials said Thursday.
The equipment shortage leaves U.S. troops vulnerable as the Taliban and other extremist groups are ramping up attacks with Afghanistan national elections approaching.
The United States is sending 21,000 troops to add to the 38,000 already in place.

Uhh, President Obama, why are we still sending our soldiers to continue the George Bush war?? Is there something the American public has not been told. Did we ALL miss a press conference detailing why we are still mucking around with this mess??
