Former State Department adviser Philip Zelikow at this morning's Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee hearing testified that when he saw the so-called torture memos written by the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, "It seemed to me that the OLC interpretation of U.S. Constitutional Law in this area was strained and indefensible. I could not imagine any federal court in America agreeing that the entire CIA program could be conducted and it would not violate the American Constitution."

    I watched this Senate hearing on C-Span and recall that Soufan and Zelikow's statements were basically ignored by the Media pundits.

    There is a PR campaign on to dismiss the torture that we did to the detainees as nothing more than a scare to the victim and well worth doing because we got all this neat information to prevent was it more terrorism against us?

    Yeah, that is what we are hearing. And we are getting that information from the trusted source that gave us the WMD, Al-Queda Baghdad connection, the Yellow Cake, and of yes from the same people who proclaimed "We Don't Torture".

    Isn't that right? In the above paragraph, we know they lied about the WMD, the Al-Quieda connection, the Yellow Cake, and yep the "We Don't Torture" , so now we really get the truth from them - we got all this neat information, therefore, torture is good.
