Posted By FairNBalanced 7 months, 2 weeks ago in News

The ACLU has sought the photos for years, which is not surprising; anything to give aid and comfort to the terrorists, after all.

    Yes, this is a flip-flop.

But does it serve the national interest?

    We think so.

The president did the right thing.

The MORE RIGHT THING to do, would have NEVER promised to release them in the first place.
So obama does not get any praise from me for doing the right thing. He just shows he is NOT a linear thinker.

No, No, No, this would definitely make you really mad if I let you see it.

Here let me paint you a picture instead I am sure that wont cause as much ruckus.
Enough detail yet? here I can try again. I just cant let you see the original but you should get the picture by now.

Yep, whatever is in the nations best interest. we can count on this administration to GET ERR DONE

As I posted on other stories regarding the release of the photos:

Did you listen to the Gibbs press briefing 5/13?

Just last month the Justice Dept legal team said nothing more could be done the the photos would have to be released

At the briefing on 5/13 Gibbs said: The President asked the legal team to make a "new argument" (national security) and appeal the case

Appellate courts CAN'T consider new arguments that were not made in the lower court!

This looks like political cover for the administration so Obama can say "we tried to keep the photos from being released"

If they are going to use a "new argument" they have to go back to a lower court and start all over

Plus keep the following in mind:

Egypt is strategic and risky choice for Obama speech

President Barack Obama will visit Egypt on June 4 to deliver a long-planned speech aimed at convincing Muslims worldwide that the U.S. isn't at war with their faith.

      http://www.miamiherald.com/news/politics/AP/story/...

Do you really think Obama wants attention from his speech diverted by release of these photos?

      All VERY convenient isn't it?

This is an empty gesture as the ACLU is going to the Supreme Court to get them released anyway. The President can't stop their release in the end but he would have looked better if he had never promised to release the pictures in the first place. Of course, this way he can have his cake and eat it too.

Now it's the Court and the ACLU who will be responsible for the deaths of our service men and women after the pictures are released.

What's sad is that all the news outlets are talking about it, but the nihilist liberals seemed to be absent from the discussion.

They (the left) don't want to talk about it.

I think he finally got the message that putting out those photos would only end up getting more soldiers killed in the end.

I'll give him credit for understanding that.

since we have little evidence that bush or obama "care" about the troops, it's difficult to believe obama changed his position to help them.

so what is the other consequence of his action? who else does it really protect?

        Berkley,

I've seen polls that the majority of people, about 56%, want this torture thing dropped. Releasing photos of the the terrorists is even more controversial. What are the consequences and who does it protect.....Obama's popularity...it's how most decisions have been made.
