There are civil rights violations, and then are really serious rights violations. While his "violation" has to be considered, there's certainly a long line of national and international violations in front of him that should be addressed first.

So far as I know, there's no "civil right" to enter a foreign country.

Some countries have standing agreements to accept the passports of other nations, and others require visas for all travel.
Savage is just being told up front he will be denied a travel visa to the U.K.

I've never, ever been exposed to any of these people - nor of course would I expose myself to them!

But listening to the BBC World Service news the other night they played a brief clip and it was just lunatic raving.
Something like Hunter Thompson on some VERY nasty drugs, perhaps.
He doesn't have a prayer of getting into the UK. -

Except for the author of these blatant, hate-filled, lies:

"Bush, and Blair, and the prime minister of Japan, and Silvio Berlusconi, these people are criminals, and they are responsible for mass murder in the world, for the war, and for the occupation, through their support for Israel, and through their support for a globalised capitalist economic system, which is the biggest killer the world has ever known. It has killed far more people than Adolf Hitler. It has killed far more people than George Bush. The economic system which these people support, which leaves most of the people in the world hungry, and without clean water to drink. So we're going to put them on trial, the leaders, when they come. They think they're coming for a holiday in a beautiful country called Scotland; in fact, they're coming to their trial....Ancient freedoms, which we had for hundreds of years, are being taken away from us under the name of the war on terror, when the real big terrorists are the governments of Britain and the United States. They are the real rogue states breaking international law, invading other people's countries, killing their children in the name of anti-terrorism, when in fact, all they're achieving is to make more terrorists in the world, not less, to make the world more dangerous, rather than less."
Note how this lying British fool, while refusing to acknowledge the existence of terrorists, then goes on to say Bush, Blair, et al, will create MORE of them.
But I digress. Why would Savage want to go to the UK anyway? Does he have a fine set of teeth that needs rotted?-

Into the center of which lie shall I float the US navy and take stock of its parameters? That global capitalism has more victims than Hitler? That the millions who suffer under tribalistic and nationalistic warlords actually suffer from the nonexistent capitalism system to which their hunger and thirst is attributed? That the unacknowledged terrorists this clown refuses to address will magically increase due to Bush/Blair policies? That this blithering idiot would be free to spout such nonsense were his ancient freedoms actually proscribed?

C'mon, Willotica. You're smarter than this. Take your own Canadian captain attached to the UN in Rwanda. He said that with 5,000 men he could prevent what became the slaughter of 800,000 men, women, and children. Then-Undersecretary of the UN Kofi Anan lied to Bhutros-Gali about the situation, nothing was done, and your captain's worst fears were realized. In evaluating the logical extension of his commentary, Galloway above places the blame for this at the feet of capitalism. He cannot even be called a liar because liars in practice normally allow a nugget of truth to add luster to the deception. Galloway cannot even rise to that miserable level.

"He vowed Thursday that his representatives will appeal to the White House if necessary to seek redress - and said he intends to file a lawsuit against Smith herself later this week, charging her with defamation of character."
Reply
Ah, good luck with your White House appeal. lol. And how can he sue for defamation of character? He has no character to defame.
But, be it as it may, I do not favor bans unless the individual or groups committed felonies and I do not favor censoring another's views because they are offensive.-

Anyone should be free to say whatever they want - and anyone should be free to decide whether or not to give a PLATFORM to somebody to speak from.
As soon as you do the latter you actually become responsible for what the person says and for any damage that may ensue, physical, emotional, psychic or whatever...

In a free country people can choose their form of entertainment. But, it's sort of like that intelligence test you took some time back when it said something like "60 Minutes is to news as Michael Savage is to, well, Homer Simpson".

The problem is he is listed with murderers and terrorists that kill people. I find his comments get somewhat repugnant and he considers Hannity and Limbaugh to be liberals. However Britain used to be a free speech country until the Muslims started yelling about what people said about them.

Savage has been labeled as spreading hate which is not what the British want in their country. We must respect that. Keep in mind what kind of trouble Savage could cause for the British if he were to criticize the Islamic populace in Britain. There could be riots all over the place and that is what they wish to avoid. If he makes defamatory remarks outside of Britain, they would not be a party to them. Lets face it, the man is 51 cards short of a full deck.

No, but it is sad that the country of the Magna Carta has stooped to bow to Muslims about free speech. CAIR tried unsuccessfully to take him off the air. Now even though he has no interest in traveling there he was targeted by this silly person.

Based on the Neo's trck record with that I'd think he doesnt have a leg to stand on arguing that one. I guss tho Britain as decided it doesn;t want unsavory characters who do nothing but spread dissent in the country. -

He has a right to free speech. When you exercise that right you need to think out the consequences of what you say BEFORE you say it. Any country can deny entrance to anybody for any or no reason. We deny entrance to thousands of Mexicans every year just because they're Mexican.

The British Home Office, in making the announcement last week banning the 16 individuals, said Savage's radio show constituted "engaging in unacceptable behavior by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence."
Reply
Newmann said last week that "the U.K. has been able to ban people who promote hatred, terrorist activities and serious violence since 2005. During this time, 101 people have been excluded for unacceptable behavior, including animal rights extremists, right-to-life, homophobe and far-right extremists, as well as those who advocate hatred and violence in support of their religious beliefs."-

Keep the bastard banned. Banning him from the USA would suit me just fine. These radical right wing talk show hosts are nothing but meglo-maniacs. They don't care how much damage they do. All they care about it getting attention, kinda like 2 year olds.

1. Can not stomach savage. The name fits him well.

2. Banning and barring someone for their beliefs is not road anyone should travel. This will drive the wedge in deeper. Separate us further.
3. This could be the HUGE dose of karma he's needed for a long time. Spewing vileness to the public will get you into trouble from time to time. Seems like MS's time is here and now. -
