General Motors told more than 1,100 dealers Friday that their franchises would not be renewed next year, bringing the total for the week to nearly 2,000 car dealers that learned they were no longer wanted.

    For those dealerships that were making a profit, this is incredibly wrong.

      What? Do you really think that they would be closing them if they where making a profit?

        I don't see what the point is of closing the dealers. GM and Chrysler don't own them. In fact the Dealers are paying GM and Chrysler franchise fees to sell their cars. What is the point of this? How will this save them money? Dealers are privately owned small businesses. I used to work for one.
