A few days ago, I posted a story in which Michael Steele of the GOP stated that gay marriage is bad for small business. It would seem that Steele's assertions are completely wrong according to this story. Thus, gay marriages are helpful to some business interests.

  May I ask you what you have done today to hold "traditional marriages" together? What have you done today to keep some of those all important 'opposite" marriages from crumbling into divorce.
  
  Since you are ready to deny me marriage rights because it will harm "traditional marriages" what else have you done to stop the huge divorce rate that is ripping families apart and has been for decades now? Isn't divorce extremely harmful to children? What have you done to stop divorcing straight couples from damaging those fragile children that you are so desperate to protect?

      Marriage is a legally binding contract with benefits as well as detriments. Religion can or can not be part of it. The lack of a religious affiliation does not detract from the legality of it.

It seems that if you consider the gay community to be only 3% of the population, that a 55% divorce rate would be a far greater threat to families than a measley 3% of us. Right?
