The Democratic majority in the house is becoming increasingly divided with Hoyer controlling 95 votes. Pelosis power is starting to erode, and it will become harder and harder for her to push Obama's agenda. They will force her out when it becomes overtly obvious.

      pc25,

You correctly state: "Pelosi's power is starting to erode, and it will become harder and harder for her to push Obama's agenda."

That's PRECISELY why I want this (rhymes with "RICH") to remain "Speaker of the Kennel".

you are right about that. I also hope that she decides to fight this for as long as she can. I think she will be defiant, and fight to the bitter end. She will try to hold on to her power for as long as she can She will become embroiled in a controversy that will continue to sap her power. The Republicans will continue to make this an issue. Hoyer seeing this will now begin to challenge her. According to Morris he already controls 95 votes and in the coming weeks will control more as other members of Congress start to see her power wane. There is a fight brewing for the House leadership now. The infighting will continue for several months probably up to the summer recess. With each passing day Obama's agenda gets delayed a day. The Republicans will sit back and watch this they will try to keep this issue in the publics mind, and laugh as the CIA now begins to "LEAK" memos about what Pelosi knew and when she knew it

from the BOOK of 5 Rings

Borrow one's hand to kill. (Kill with a borrowed knife.)

Attack using the strength of another (because of lack of strength or do not want to use own strength). Trick an ally into attacking him, bribe an official to turn traitor, or use the enemy's own strength against him.Make your enemy tire himself out while conserving energy.

It is an advantage to choose the time and place for battle. In this way you know when and where the battle will take place, while your enemy does not. Encourage your enemy to expend his energy in futile quests while you conserve your strength. When he is exhausted and confused, you attack with energy and purpose.

Watch the fires burning across the river.

Delay entering the field of battle until all the other players have become exhausted fighting amongst themselves. Then go in full strength and pick up the pieces.

the Dems are playing right into this

Conservative blogs have nothing left to sell but manipulation and lies ;-P

While this is nothing new for most of you who argue with that pathetic 22% of dead-enders, it’s important for everyone else to understand how desperate and manipulative some of these conservative blogs have become since Obama’s innauguration.

I’ve posted in the past about WizBang Blog, but I’d like to talk specifically about their new comment editor. While I know nothing about this woman, she’s single-handedly turned WizBang Blog into a joke by not only altering the posts of those with more centrist or left-leading views, but sometimes lying about their intent altogether. Her routine is something like this: a lively debate begins in the thread for some particular post, the right wing crazies say the most inflamatory and insulting things about the left and, when the left tries to defend/debate/provide facts or an alternative opinion to the discussion, they are, very indescriminantly having their posts scrambled, complete with a “comment” by the editor that suggests something even more inflamatory was actually written by this poster (as it is now scrambled, new readers wouldn’t know this to be a lie). Unfortunately for that commenter, his/her response to these false accusations is always eliminated.

Now, if you have a troll in there who’s making a complete mockery of things or trying to flame I can understand, at the very least, the motivation for shutting him/her up. The problem with this woman is she’s not an honest dealer. She targets commenters based on nothing more than her own personal justifications at the time of the post. It’s obviously a power trip for her.

CIA director says Pelosi received the truth
            By Sam Youngman
            Posted: 05/15/09 02:19 PM [ET]

CIA Director Leon Panetta challenged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s accusations that the agency lied to her, writing a memo to his agents saying she received nothing but the truth.

Panetta said that "ultimately, it is up to Congress to evaluate all the evidence and reach its own conclusions about what happened."

--How long has Panetta been at the CIA? And why are you pretending you haven't heard anyone question the CIA's account of not just events involving Pelosi but other Dems as well? Stop pretending there's only one side to this story and you might gain some credibility.

Foolish Neocons Think They Can Win “Mexican Standoff” Over Torture by Targeting Demse ;-P

Republicans — whose undying support for breaking US and international law by uselessly torturing detainees in order to justify illegal wars has their former administration on the ropes — seem to think they can change the subject by attacking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (and others) for what they may (or may not) have known about the Bush-Cheney torture practices.

While it’s an obvious distraction maneuver, and one that Americans are laughing at, the attempt to change the subject has, in itself, become a worthy news item. One for the Crazy Files and the Torture Files. Here’s a few clippings outlining the absurdity (from Think Progress):

Conservatives Express Hope That Their Attacks On Pelosi Will Quiet Calls For Truth Commission

Fox News conservatives are revealing one of the underlying motives for these attacks — to diminish calls for a truth commission on torture. While interviewing Newt Gingrich, and later, Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Fox host Neil Cavuto wondered whether “both parties will cease and desist” from investigations:

Is it a potential Mexican standoff? And by that, I mean, Senator, that Democrats feel they have the goods on the prior administration to drag out hearings on what they knew about Iraq and when. Now Republicans have the goods, presumably, on Nancy Pelosi about what she knew about interrogation and when. So to avoid mutual self-destruction, both parties cease and desist.

Last night on Fox, Dick Cheney’s official biographer Stephen Hayes said, “Democrats who have been so enthusiastic about truth commissions have to be stopping and saying, OK, wait a second.” Mort Kondracke chimed in with some advice for the President: “I think Obama really has to get this stuff stopped.” [....]

Pelosi has been clear that recent questions about her level of knowledge about Bush’s torture program only add more — not less — need for an investigation to take place. “Until a truth commission comes into being, I encourage the appropriate committees of the House to conduct vigorous oversight of these issues,” Pelosi said.

Goodness, you really have some emotion behind your political views, Pecossam.

Of course, I realize that 'emotionalism' is what drives most Modern Republicans.
