I don't remember hearing about Camp Nama.
I went looking for more info after reading the Common Dreams
article. Here's a NYT gem from 2006:

We are not prosecuting but still promoting these people...
What gives?
Is the sheer volume of people in our custody that were
tortured getting through to the "ticking bomb" scenario
defenders?

  both the main link and your great 2006 article underscore the point that abuse has been widely known for a long time. we expected bush to cover it up, and he did. we expect obama to encourage transparency, and he's not.
  
  the corporate press supports the empire. who the president is, or who controls congress, is incidental to them.
