Stinger Missiles !!!!!!!!! Gee who woulda thunk it......Just your normal Gitmo types working hard, trying to make a better life for themselves and their families. Gee I wonder if we should interrogate these guys. Find out if there are stinger missiles in the hands of stateside terrorists before they blow a couple of passanger jets out of the sky. What say you? A show of hands will suffice. Yay or nay. Ah what the hell no ticking timebomb scenario here. Well just wait till a couple of passanger jets are blown out of the sky and then we will interrogate them. What do you think. Maybe we should just just try to get them jobs put them in counseling and encourage them to get in touch with their inner feelings. Better yet we will send Obama in and he can open up a dialogue with them. I mean after all these are probably those MODERATE TALIBAN types that Obama and Joe "THE" Biden are always talking about. This is as good a time as any to open up the lines of communication.

Amid Queries, CIA Worries About Future
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic...
For example, the "attention grasp," described as "grasping the individual with both hands, one hand on either side of the collar," is one of the 13 techniques employed in the past by the CIA and is listed in the Justice Department's May 10, 2005, memo. It is barred under the Field Manual. Unlike harsher techniques on the list, such as nudity, dietary control, sleep deprivation and waterboarding, CIA officials say they want the authority to use the attention grasp without going back to Washington for approval.-

I wonder if these guys are in this country illegally. I wonder f they have valid drivers licenses. What do you think the odds are. Drivers licenses for illegals. According to Pelosi and the ACLU a "GOD GIVEN RIGHT." Oh man my bad mentioning GOF and the ACLU in the same sentence. What could I have been thinking. Not politically correct is it

Don't you feel safer that the Dems are in charge now. I know I do. I will sleep soundly tonight know that Obama, Reid and Pelosi are doing their best to undermine our National Security. It's about National Security and it's always been about National Security.
Maybe Obama has a point though. Maybe we should cutback on out national defense and our national security and surveillance efforts. We should disband the FBI, throw FISA out the window, dismantle the CIA, the NSA, and whatever other a's you can come up with. There's no need to worry, This is not a dangerous world at all. No one wishes us any harm. Obama has it under control. He is the one the world has been waiting for He will show the way. If you dont believe it just ask him. Go to gov.org or better yet call up your local LIB and ask for a copy of that new information pamphlet from the O man himself "How I learned to stop worrying and love my neighborhood Jihadist" Written by the O man himself with a forward by John Murtha. It sure as hell changed my life I am a new man. Unbelieveable. Yep Obama is right we need to let our guard down, gather together in Central Park arond the May Pole and sing Michael Jackson's "We are the world". Hey problem solved. What in the world was I worrying about. I am going to sleep well tonight as I'm sure you will know that the sarety and security of this country is in the able and capable hands of Obama and company.-

The suspects - three U.S.-born citizens and one Haitian immigrant - at least three of whom were said to be jailhouse converts to Islam, were angry about the deaths of Muslims in Afghanistan, sources told The News.
Reply
The group's alleged ringleader, James Cromitie, according to the complaint, discussed targets with an undercover agent. "The best target [the World Trade Center] was hit already," he allegedly told the agent. Later, he rejoiced in a terrorist attack on a synagogue.
"I hate those motherf-----s, those f---ing Jewish bastards. . . . I would like to get [destroy] a synagogue."
The men allegedly parked car bombs wired to cell phones outside the Riverdale Temple and nearby Riverdale Jewish Center. They were also heading to Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh, Orange County, when the law swooped in on them.
Sources said their plan was to shoot down a cargo plane headed to Iraq or Afghanistan with a surface-to-air guided missile while simultaneously calling the cell phones and blowing up the Riverdale synagogues.

There you go pc - off on your obsessive , paranoid rant -- you posted a good article & then drew all kinds of conclusions before the facts were known -- these guys were all former inmates a product of the good ole USA. The FBI had a handle on them from day one -the explosives were inert, the missile inoperative.. The FBI has been doing a pretty good job for as - this case, Ft Dix, Okla. City - they didn't go running around accusing everybody who seemed different from your view of what an American should look like -they just did their job & did it well

Wait...So *this* week the government is competent? This is all very confusing to me. A few weeks ago (after Obama gave most Americans a tax cut) we were told that the government was incompetent in every conceivable way. Now cons are applauding the agency that couldn't pay its phone bills on time under Bush? Wow...cons are gymnastic flipfloppers. ;-(

"All the explosives and missiles were obtained from the FBI, so there was never any danger to anyone at any time, even, obviously, the four men involved,"
Furthermore the FBI actually knows how to interrogate people and get information from them without resorting to torture.-

The question that keeps me awake at night is--what if a GITMO detainee were to somehow escape from one of our maximum security prisons (this happens hundreds of times every day, after all), how will we recapture them before they make it back to their country on foot and plot more mischief? What if once in prison, they start trading sexual favors with other prisoners for our state secrets or maybe just to even learn English or cool prison slang they can share with Al qaeda when they finally escape? This cannot be allowed to happen. DOES the Obama adminstration have a plan for this?! Why not?! ;-(

Thats from the yahoo.com story. Doesn't state specifically that they're Muslim, but it hints at it. While were in Afghanistan/Iraq/Middle East, were going to be hearing a lot of these stories.-

But those are Kelly's words, not necessarily the words from the terrorists themselves. They could be taken out of context.

You are very correct, the Islamic world blames the Jews for every problem. Until they love their children more than they love to hate & kill Jews, things will never change.
As to the Koran, the Jews are also referred to as the Children of Abraham and are to be treated well. So much for the Islamic radicals actually reading their own holy book.

Nah, it was homegrown.
I hope the liberals perhaps learn something from this.
That this administration is commented to protecting us from terrorist. They see a real threat there. Unlike the first 8 months of the Bush Administration where terrorism was ignored and the missile defense shield was touted as the way to protect America from threats abroad. Is that what you mean? -

It sounds like 3 of the 4 were home grown, the 4th is from Haiti. All have extensive criminal pasts and seem to have converted to jail house Islam. There are some who feel we would be served well be refusing the Islamic clergy from converting prisoners. If this is an example of their "work", we have a problem. I have no idea.

I tried to look up the term "jailhouse Christian" to see if the same reference implied. I did not find it. I believe the use of jailhouse Muslim to be significant because all that accept Islam in prison are not called this. It is a mentality. Some convert temporarily for protection. Some convert with full intention but don't make an effort to remove their improper characteristics i.e.bad language, womanizing, drug selling or usage, hatred or disgruntled behavior and other miscreant behaviors. Some, who convert, leave the system and those whom they associate with would never know they accepted Islam in prison. they conduct themselves as law abiding citizens who benefit our society.

And I can understand some skepticism. We are a pessimistic nation. How many articles do I read on here doubting our government,on BOTH sides and by just reading the lack of any congruency in these postings. Kinda like a guy on death row who becomes "born again". People naturally doubt his ability or the sincerity of his conversion or even a guy who is expecting a parole board hearing. Overall, we don't even trust our neighbors here. Not even the intention of NON-MUSLIM Americans.
The site below has a definition of 15 "jailhouse"term. Look at "jailhouse Muslim".
Within that definition there is a video link in it from Spike TV concerning this issue.
You can't blame "Muslim clergy" from converting people. Actually a lack of "clergy" is what may allow people who are weak, ignorant, aberrant or violent from misunderstanding and misinterpreting the Quran. I saw one statement in the article that says that one of the suspects had to be often corrected. There are only 10 Muslim chaplains in the federal system to try to neutralize radical thinking. The report also speaks about white supremacist groups having the same type system.

The reason I would see to drop it is not the article itself, but the erroneous ties that PC tries to make with his first comment. In which case, it is really just those comments that should be negged, not the story which seems quite newsworthy (for a change).

President Obama never said things the way you phrased them. I know you may not know this. President Obama has even given the FBI permission to investigate government corruption at lower levels. He has been doing a better job then some of the past President's we've had. So why don't you just lay of the President and let him do his job. -

"The president gave permission, or does congress give the permission?"
Reply
That depends on the type of corruption. Here in Cali, a State agency under Arnold is being looked into by the FBI. When Bush was President, the FBI was not allowed to investigate them. President Obama reversed that policy & gave the FBI permission to investigate the agency, after they've had to many complaints from people. President Obama also set up an address in Washington where people can mail in complaints about that agency in writing. -

I think that our national security providers need our support - and it makes a difference if this was an inside or outside job.
Are you saying that it makes no difference if they are native born US citizens, or if they came here from another country to do harm to us???
Or did you add, from your biases, intimations of sex, religion, or race? Which I made no reference to. -

Congratulations to the FBI. Good old fashioned law enforcement wins another one. They probably got initial information from an informant, investigated the plotters, infiltrated their group, set them up and made the arrest. Amazing! No resort to torture or war. Great job guys. It is interesting, though, that the motivation of these criminals were the actions of the Bush Administration in Afghanistan. This doesn't make them any less criminal, but we should examine our national policies to make sure we are not unnecessarily providing criminals with motivations to commit crimes.

Big Question: Will the kind of surveylance that made this bust possible be carried on in the future?
Reply
That depends on other questions. Will our FBI and CIA have the same tools they have had in the past or will they be limited by an administration that caters to the ACLU? Will case officers be agressive and proactive or will they hold back in fear of being prosecuted by some future administration official on some technicality? Will the guilty parties be punished or will the justice department find some reason to ease off.
William Ayers actually set of bombs that killed people and look where he is now. These guys may yet end up teaching in some Chicago university.-
