Propeller Week In Review: May 22, 2009 »
Posted By JamesMarcus 5 months, 2 weeks ago in NewsAfter cracking the whip at Chrysler and accepting a degree at Notre Dame, Barack Obama was back in the spotlight this week at Propeller. Some members disapproved of the president's economic policies, labeling them "socialism" or "fascism." But another reminded the naysayers that the president's difficulties were not all of his own devising: "Obama did not bring on the problems! He inherited them from the previous administration, you morons!"
There was also some lively back-and-forth about Dick Cheney, who has transformed himself from a vice-presidential recluse into a highly visible critic of the new administration. One member called him a "portrait of insanity," while another argued that "Doomsday Dick" was "far more in tune with reality than the chattering left could ever hope to be."
Elsewhere, the community debated evolution (again) and Propeller's own Terms of Use, which some members found uncomfortably elastic. Check out the blog post and join the post-WIR conversation!

Last week it was another Rush Limbaugh feature and this week it is the reactionaries at Notre Dame with Dick Cheney once again on center stage. Perhaps “Wing-nuts in Review” (WIR) would serve as a more suitable acronym.-

As always, a great synopsis James. It's interesting that censorship and the TOU keep coming up, Of course I don't want to see censorship on the site, but we do agree when we sign up to not personally attack another member, I think the site applies repercussions gingerly and that is a good thing.

I would say that he "inherited" it is a little hypocritical in that the Congress and Obama himself in the Senate passed legislation along with Bush to start this buying of banks and auto companies....this is was no surprise to the young President. I would suggest all the youngsters look back a little further than January for what the President has inherited and see all the names on the HUGE bailout under Bush were...majority of Democrats names right there!

I predict that next week will be very interesting on the news front. Word has it that President Obama will make his supreme court pick known as early as Tuesday. I am sure the PROPELLER comment threads will light up over this regardless of who he might pick and the WIR will be here as usual to highlight it all.

Obama is not the cause of any of the problems and i believe he is trying is best to put things in order. We must remember that he's not a magician so we must be patient. Besides good things require time. As for his critics they need to be more contructive in their thinking
