Bill Gates and Warren Buffet frankly have been advocates of philanthropy in recent years. Warren Buffet even declared it was not fair that his housekeeper paid more taxes than he due to favorable loopholes for the rich.

...well at least we don't have the repugs in charge so that the government hosts these meetings like the Cheney Energy meeting where the minutes are still classified!

The same Energy meeting that the Alaska Senator told the big oil CEOs they didn't have to tell the truth about since he wouldn't make them pledge to tell the truth to Congress! Ted Stevens was also the greatest earmark spender too with his bridges to nowhere being the foremost examples! No scruples, no values, no conscience repugs - the terrorist party of America!

Remember that it was the repug Homeland Security Bill that also dropped sanctions against those overseas bank accounts!

So the Repugs did some stupid shiat,

Where is your outrage then over Democrats doing the same thing. Why do you think Obama is spending billions bailing out these company's? Because he is paying back the UNIONS who got him elected. Don't believe me? Then tell me why he would deny California money if Arnold wanted to cut Union Pay so we could decrease our deficit? Arnold wanted to cut pay for Prison Workers who have a strangle hold on our economy. Obama wouldn't let him do it because over 80% of the workers voted for him.

Bush is out and the Democrats are in control. If you want real change then stop bitching about ONLY the Repugs. The Dems aren't doing anything to help this country either. Are We still in Iraq? Is Gitmo Closed? Is GM safe after the Billions Obama pumped into it? NO No No....

I hope they live up to their philanthropic aspirations. By the way did anyone notice that none of the Walton's were there, the Wal*Mart family, even though they are worth almost 100 billion dollars combined!!

why aren't the Rockerfellers, Rothchilds, Morgans and many of the other culprits there?
Why not change the way the IMF & World Bank conduct their business like being advocates of Milton Friedman economics whereby they exploit the poor & middle class so that a disproportionate amount of money continues to flow up to the already super elites???????

          I was there.
I had planned to skip but Warren threatened
(again!) to buy the nasdaq and run it with the magic
8-ball I gave him for Christmas.
Really, I think stocks would do just as well if he did but
I felt obligated to western civ to show up.

          The limo wasn't armoured and had only one waiter who doubled as a masseuse;
          everyone is cutting back.

Lunch was... chicken salad; shadowed by Rodin's bronze statue
of The Thinker , which Warren ahd flown in from the Louve to inspire us to think.

Bill kept text-messaging Linda under the table. They are quite romantic in a geeky disgusting way.

Warren kept asking us what our ideas were about helping the poor. I suggested we could give them a lot of money.
Warren just sighed and said, "If only it were that simple."

The fifth time he said that Bill threw the magic 8-ball at him
and it shattered against the The Thinker .
We all looked at the pieces of black plastic and blue water,
where the little message ball floated free.

          "Perhaps" came up top.
We took that as a good sign and went home.

              As far as I remember.
He could have said "If only you weren't simple,"
but I don't think he did.

              I don't think he did.

There is a story about a man in East Tennessee that had his own funeral before he actually died...and one comment he made was that Oak Ridge would cause something called a secret that would save the world...and that secret is that there is no secret.

I wonder if they ever stopped to think while they were meeting and discuss the fact that if to large of a percent of the money ends up in to few hands we end up in a situation like we have now.
I have nothing against people making money or being well paid but what they receive should be somewhat reflective on what they actually contribute to the production of a product.
These billionaires likely are concerned about the ordinary person to some degree but they are also concerned about their own well being, since none of them is really eager to see a redistribution of wealth to the ordinary joe.
For those of you who doubt the idea that to much money can end up in to few hands I have one simple question and that has to do if there is not a shortage of money why has the government gone to such great lenghts to print so much new money.

My Fellow Americans: The jealous poor are gossiping again. The rich have too much money. The rich have too many tax brakes. The rich don't want to give me some of their money. I hate the Rich. I just love being poor. I love having no money. I love our president because he wants us to stay poor. I love giving tax money to the white house. I want him to be president again because he knows what to expect from us. Can you imagine radiofreeopra, heffer, chimp-on-the-phone, whitefwomwong, Donalduck51, ingin-ear, or call-a-tent-fro, sitting around the kitchen table and crying about everything going on in the Neighborhood? Well, this is their neighborhood and we have to read about it every day. I guess their mommys did not love them when they were growing up. They certainly did not have a father to keep them mentally stable. Hey, losers will always be losers. The Real American

Their are twice as many unregistered BILLIONAIRES as there are on the Forbes List. Like the Wall Street crooks that have been robbing the system for years. And they don't give back (s)hit to the people, and doesn't pay a dime on Taxes. All off shore deposited into SECRET ACCOUNTS.

When Obama asked, "why should all the Wealth be in the hands of so few people, and why can't the poor get a fair take of it"? You all called him a "SOCIALIST". All because he spoke out for you poor (a)ss (b)astards that doesn't have (s)hit.
