Colin Powell was on Face the Nation this morning, and he used his appearance to fire back at both Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney’s claims that he is not a Republican anymore. Powell said that Cheney had been misinformed, and Limbaugh is an entertainer who is entitled to his own opinion.

FTA: Powell said that Limbaugh is an entertainer, but he also has power within the GOP, “Mr. Limbaugh is entitled to his opinion, and I don’t say he shouldn’t have an opinion…but he shouldn’t have a veto over what someone thinks. He is an entertainer. He is a radio figure, and he is a significant one, but he is more than that when the chairman of the RNC Michael Steele issues the mildest of criticisms concerning Mr. Limbaugh, and then 24 hours later the chairman of the RNC has to lay prostrate on the floor apologizing for it, and when two congressman offer the mildest criticism of Mr.Limbaugh, they too within 24 hours have such pressure brought to bear on them that they have to change their view and apologize for criticizing him. If he is out there he should be subject to criticism just like I am subject to criticism.”

Powell is so eager to take down Rush for being extreme,how Mathews,Olbermann.and many others.No i think he's found his niche with the Obama's.I just hope he has enough American blood left to pull the emergency cord on this runaway train before it's too late.I believe he knows how little time there is left.

Dick Cheney who? Is this the guy who wasn't part of the Executive Branch or the guy who wasn't part of the Legislative Branch of Our Government. Now he isn't a part of anything and all we hear is him trying desperately to CHA.

Rush Hudson Limbaugh III is the best thing to happen to the Democratic Party since Nixon's "I'm not a crook speech!" The 'Great Entertainer' is nothing more than that except to his little brown friends in the Caribbean who keep stealing Rush away from his wives. Under the 'Limbaugh Effect,' Reagan's 'Big Republican Tent' has become a narrow minded "Pup Tent' for Neo-Cons and Right Wing Wackos.
Together, this particular pair has managed more harm to to the Republican Party than any Democrat could have every possibly hoped to achieve.
If the future of the Republican Party is going to be founded upon the ideas and ideals of Cheney, Limbaugh & Gingrich, then the Democratic Party indeed will have very little to concern itself about regarding National Political affairs. This "I hope Obama fails," clan has openly aligned itself with Terrorists around the globe, also hoping for USA and Obama failures. Americans recognize this and until Moderate Republicans rally around a leader who can energize Real Republican sentiments, the current GOP will remain wounded, bloodied and abandoned!
