FTA: At a news conference Thursday, Brown County Sheriff Rich Hoffmann vowed to arrange a safe return for Colleen Hauser without an enforcement action if she shows “a good faith effort to come back.”

Great. Let's make another exception for religion, even if it leads to a child's death.
I wonder if there would be no charges had she fled from this court order not for religious reasons, but if say the chemo had fallen during the family vacation or local sporting event or she was just too lazy to drag the kid to chemo that day?-

I wonder if you'd gripe if she decided to let her child die NOT for religious reasons, but, because she believed, I mean, thought, that to save her child's life would mean possibly carrying on a defective gene, hurting human evolution.

I am a very strong believer that no one can tell anyone what to do because I don't like to be told what to do.

So long as no one else is being hurt and he is able to make the decision (he's past the age of reason) then it his God given right to decline treatment.
Of course we want to save the child but we don't have the right to control someone else. If fact you can't - it just doesn't work.
The judge overstepped his bounds and should be help accountable.
I'm willing to bet this judge became a bit over powering at a point when the child felt his lowest and had enough. Perhaps if the judge gave it a day this would not be a news item.
But who knows the real story here?-

The problem here is that he's being brainwashed, he really doesn't believe he's that sick, he was found unable of making an informed decision. Last time I checked euthanasia was illegal in the US, as is still in most of the countries. While I don't agree with that, the only difference here is that he's not terminally ill yet, he still have a chance to survive but he's not informed enough to actually know what he's doing.

Until that child (and he is a child) is mature enough to decide what is right for him, his parents have an obligation and a duty to afford him the best care. This isn't experimental, or without a high success rate, there is just NO reason to deprive this kid of life saving treatment. He ISN'T old enough to make a decision based on religious beliefs. It's about HIS rights, not his parents.
