Their stories are a staple of conspiracy culture: broken men, suffering hallucinations and near-total amnesia, who say they are victims of secret government mind-control experiments. Think Liev Schreiber in The Manchurian Candidate or Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory . Journalists are a favorite target for the paranoid delusions of this population. So is Gordon Erspamer— and the San Francisco lawyer's latest case isn't helping him to fend off the tinfoil-hat crowd. He has filed suit against the CIA and the US Army on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America and six former American soldiers who claim they are the real thing: survivors of classified government tests conducted at the Army's Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland between 1950 and 1975. " I get a lot of calls," he says. " There are a lot of crazy people out there who think that somebody from Mars is controlling their behavior via radio waves." But when it comes to Edgewood, " I'm finding that more and more of those stories are true!

Let's not forget that the best way to honor the sacrifices of veterans is to stand up for the decency which they were willing to defend. Not blind submission to authoritarian types.

Although the CIA insists that MK-ULTRA-type experiments have been abandoned, 14-year CIA veteran Victor Marchetti has stated in various interviews that the CIA routinely conducts disinformation campaigns and that CIA mind control research continued. In a 1977 interview, Marchetti specifically called the CIA claim that MK-ULTRA was abandoned a "cover story."

On the Senate floor in 1977, Senator Ted Kennedy said:

The Deputy Director of the CIA revealed that over thirty universities and institutions were involved in an "extensive testing and experimentation" program which included covert drug tests on unwitting citizens "at all social levels, high and low, native Americans and foreign." Several of these tests involved the administration of LSD to "unwitting subjects in social situations." At least one death, that of Dr. [Frank] Olson, resulted from these activities. The Agency itself acknowledged that these tests made little scientific sense. The agents doing the monitoring were not qualified scientific observers.

To this day most specific information regarding Project MKULTRA remains highly classified.

Does it remind you of the NAZIS? Closer than you might think
        to the absolute truth:

A precursor of the MK-ULTRA program began in 1945 when the Joint Intelligence Objectives Agency was established and given direct responsibility for Operation PAPERCLIP. Operation Paperclip was a program to RECRUIT former NAZI spies, scientists and experts in torture and brainwashing, some of whom had just been identified and prosecuted as war criminals during the Nuremberg Trials.

Several secret U.S. government projects grew out of Operation Paperclip. These projects included Project CHATTER (established 1947), and Project BLUEBIRD (established 1950), which was later renamed to Project ARTICHOKE in 1951. Their purpose was to study mind-control, interrogation, behavior modification and related topics.

Okay - I am now going to strap on my tinfoil hat.
A couple of years ago I read that Sirhan Sirhan's attorney
was trying to get a new trial for him. Mind control, and
MK Ultra came up in the article, so I went looking around
online. Mr.Teeter is no longer with us but the page I link
here is of great interest anyway - with or without MK Ultra:

I know 1st hand of an incident this year where research was being conducted in chemical-genetic alteration to the brain (for medical purposes) and a certain organization associated with intelligence gathering attempted to recruit the researchers to reverse the process ( to induce rather than cure).
Enough said, it IS still being done.

"Think Liev Schreiber in The Manchurian Candidate or Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory."

Actually, the movie Conspiracy theory was to some degree based on MK Ultra.
