This is going to sound like a joke, but it's not. The South Park Easter episode with the bunny pope gives the best example of how screwed up the Catholic institution is (I separate this from lay Catholics, who for the most part are good people). Jesus shows up to help Kyle and Donohue essentially says, "Throw these jews in jail!" It's so sadly fitting.

There are specific passages of Jesus proclaiming acceptance of and human rights for gays, children (who had no rights whatsoever at that time), really anyone that society deemed a sinner or worthless. It's amazing to me that so many "Christians" are later day Pharisees - hypocrites. If anyone supported and cared for the people these churches shun, it was the very man they claim to love. They worship his divinity but completely disregard his humanism. So bass-ackwards.
