It appears that the liberals here on Propeller believe it's just fine for Obama to steal from American citizens to give to the UAW. Yes, I would have thought even the Propeller nut jobs would think and realize this is wrong. It sure doesn't say much for their character or their expectations of their leader. -

Why would you be surprised that Pc25 passes on a lie about Obama?

If he had posted the truth that there was nothing to it but a lawyer

It's getting to where all one can do is sigh and shrug one's shoulders when given the daily "Obama Report". Perhaps there is something to the term "sinister" when it comes to Lefties:
sin·is·ter (s?n'?-st?r)
adj.
Suggesting or threatening evil: a sinister smile.
Presaging trouble; ominous: sinister storm clouds.
Attended by or causing disaster or inauspicious circumstances.
***On the left side; left.***
Heraldry Situated on or being the side of a shield on the wearer's left and the observer's right.
[Middle English sinistre, unfavorable, from Old French, from Latin sinister, on the left, unlucky.]
sin'is·ter·ly adv., sin'is·ter·ness n.-

Thanks, Peco, for the English lesson. It doesn't hurt for us to be reminded how the Romans viewed the Democrats.

Now if you are really interested in finding out the origins of sinister, then I would suggest you go to the following link and spend a little time finding out out about the Earth and its sinister origins:

It would be way to complicated for me to inform you with any eruditeness concerning this topic, so lets just call it your personal journey into left-handedness.

Remember who the car czar is - Steven Rattner
Reply
In March, Steven Rattner, the leader of the Obama administration's auto task force, was the man who sat face to face with General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner at a Treasury Department meeting and fired him.
Now it's Rattner's turn in the hot seat.
The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday night that Rattner was involved with payments at the center of an investigation into an alleged kickback scheme at New York state's pension fund. Sourcing their information to a "person familiar with the matter," Journal reporters Craig Karmin and Peter Lattman reported that Rattner, who was then an executive at Quadrangle Group, an investment firm he co-founded, met with a "politically connected" consultant to discuss a finder's fee. Quadrangle later paid a $1.1 million fee, and received a $100 million investment from the New York State Common Retirement Fund.
New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo and the Securities and Exchange Commission have been investigating whether payments to middle men by private equity firms including Quadrangle constituted improper kickbacks in exchange for investments from the pension fund, which is worth $122 billion.
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21348.ht...
Rattner's name has also come up in the pay-for-play scandal in New Mexico - the scandal that derailed the Bill Richardson nomination

I am not at all surprised that gov ownership of trillion dollar business led to corruption.

I am a little surprised to see people acting like there was an admin before this one that wasn't corrupt. not that prior wrongs excuse current wrongs, its just the tone of the comments that surprise me.. as if he were corrupting an otherwise pure system.
stealing money from SS for the general fund is a crime they are all committing together. As is the fact that no one went to jail for receiving the bribes that abramoff was convicted of paying. The list of Constitutional violations is as tall as I am.

You state: "guess you've never heard the term .. TO THE VICTOR GOES THE SPOILS..."
The only problem (a BIG ONE) with this saying applied to today's topic is that it is ABOUT AMERICA, not some country we were at war with. But then again, the Left has been AT WAR and out to DESTROY the United States since the time of Lenin.
Perhaps, since you have succeeded in suckering a majority of voters into electing this SOCIALIST as President, you may claim victory over the FREEST, most SUCCESSFUL COUNTRY ever known to have been established. But it is a PYRRHIC VICTORY, in that by "winning" it, you have in fact LOST. You will realize this FACT sooner or later, when one of your "sacred cows" has been gored and slaughtered by your fellow Obamamites; all for the good of "THE STATE", of course. It is merely History repeating itself.
For you see, as there is no HONOR among thieves, there is none among SOCIALISTS, for they ARE THIEVES in the business of "Wealth Distribution", and a law unto themselves.
Enjoy your "VICTORY", for it will be a BRIEF celebration, just as the Policemen and Teachers Unions Pension Funds have learned to their chagrin. -

Alright, maybe not 'fun' but sorta clinicaly interesting.
The dealerships were all closed by Chrysler.
You present no evidence nor sane reason to believe otherwise.
To pretend it was done by the White House, - is a mere lie.
Being conservative does not mean lying as often as possible
in the hope that eventualy something must be true.
It isn't even effective opposition.
There was another message conservatives were supposed to deliver to America.
Look for it, people.
It's got to be there somewhere. -

Unreal. After Weeding Out GOP-Linked Dealers Chrysler Looking To Open New Dealerships!
http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2009/05/unreal-a...
More Hope and Change...
** Earlier it was reported that the Obama Administration may have targeted GOP donors in deciding which Chrysler dealerships would have to close their doors.
** Last night it was discovered that a Big Dem Donor Group was allowed to keep all 6 Chrysler dealerships open.... And, their local competitors were eliminated by Obama's task force.
** The closings also tend to be in "Red" Counties where Obama lost.
** Even Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla) lost his Chrysler dealership in Florida and found out from a colleague on the House floor.
** Lithia Motor Group's owners gave $15,000 to two Democrat candidates and support nationalized healthcare. They will likely lose just two of 29 dealerships and gain 5 more.
** One report claims the odds that these Chrysler closings occurred without partisan bias are less than 1%. -

I'd like to see some sort of hard evidence for this. Other than pure peculation. Some op-ed by a blogger, that has links to another op-ed blogger is not fact. If someone can actually provide some proof that this happened. I will welcome it. Speculation provided as fact is sooooooo neocon.

Does any of this apply to the present situation?
Reply
That perennial question, "Does the end justify the means?" is meaningless as it stands: the real and only question regarding the ethics of means and ends is, and always has been, "Does this particular end justify this particular means?"
The second rule of the ethics of means and ends is that the judgment of the ethics of means is dependent upon the political position of those sitting in judgment.
The third rule of the ethics of means and ends is that in war the end justifies almost any means.
The fourth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that judgment must be made in the context of the times in which the action occurred and not from any other chronological vantage point.
The fifth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that concern with ethics increases with the number of means available and vice versa.
The sixth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that the less important the end to be desired, the more one can afford to engage in ethical evaluations of means.
The seventh rule of the ethics of means and ends is that generally success or failure is a mighty determinant of ethics.
The eighth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that the morality of a means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.
The ninth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that any effective means is automatically judged by the opposition as being unethical.
The tenth rule of the ethics of means and ends is that you do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral garments.
The eleventh rule of the ethics of means and ends is that goals must be phrased in general terms like "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity," "Of the Common Welfare," "Pursuit of Happiness," or "Bread and Peace." -

Just keep wearing your blindfolds, libs. All one has to do is see the list of owners(and the political contributions that they made),whose dealerships were closed, and the list of owners(and the political contributions THEY made),whose dealerships weren't closed to see that this was strictly political.
Reply
The owners whose dealerships were closed didn't contribute any money to the Obama campaign, the ones that were left open did contribute to the Obama campaign.
That is about as blatant as you can get. -

Obama will likely turn out to be viewed as the most politically oriented President since Nixon. Every step is a political calculation to centralize power from the dealership closings, US census power grab, position on immigration, demonizing CEOs and the private sector, attacking Republicans, nominating Sotomayor, funding Acorn, UAW involvement with Detroit, .....

A list! - let's go thru it.
Reply
- Closing auto dealerships is a cleverly unexpected way to seize power.
I would have seized the fast food restaurants myself.
- The US census power grab is clever because no one knew he had grabbed it . And obviously, with that power, he will be unstoppable.
- Yes, his position on immigration is a centralizing maneuver designed to ignore the issue, like every one of his predicessors. The clever fiend.
- Demonizing the CEO's is a clever ploy. Before Obama we regarded them as
angels who floated above on golden parachutes; now we look at them and think
'I wan't my tax money back'.
- Attacking Republicans is not a power ploy. We all do it. Even Republicans do it.
Actualy, Obama mostly ignores them. it is the Republicans who can... not... stop...
talking about him.
- Nominating Sotomayor is a brilliant move; she has been certified by the senate twice already so she should be a shoe in. Pure power ploy.
- Funding Acorn; - yawn. Acorn is a public service group that has been getting funding for decades. In other words, it does nothing interesting and nothing particularly well.
- UAW involvement - the last thing we want is for a lot of autoworkers to get united
in the making of cars in Detroit. That could lead to production , and worker satisfaction,
and better cars, and do you realize what it could do to your investments in Chinese sweat shops?
Not a bad list;
but it ignores that Obama is really a dim kenyan who is illiterate.
You almost make him sound smart .
