Neither gas or Charcoal beats a hardwood fire. Charcoal is closer than gas though. We have been cooking on a wood fire about 3 nights a week for the past month. As long as it's not raining their isn't anything better.

Having a couple chicken breasts left over from supper right now. Sure gets everyone's attention when you pop them in the microwave at work the next day. Sure smells good
