God’s Will Be Done or See What Kind Of Nasty **** Happens When You Put The Reigns of Power Into The Hands Of The Completely Delusional »
Posted By chuck-the-canuck 7 months ago in NewsWhen the U.S. and its principal ally Great Britain invaded Afghanistan and Iraq, in 2001 and 2003 respectively, both President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair believed they were fulfilling “God’s Will.”
This has been rumored for years after fundamentalist Bush was quoted six years ago as saying that he launched the invasions because he was “on a mission from God.” But new evidence establishes both former leaders were convinced that the Christian deity supported their attacks on the two Islamic countries.
Former French Premier Jacques Chirac, in a book published in March, revealed that Bush said he was fulfilling Biblical prophesy in starting each of his unjust, illegal wars. In late May, John Burton, one of Blair’s closest political associates for a quarter-century and often described as his mentor, told the press that the British leader’s support of the wars was “all part of the Christian battle; good should triumph over evil.”

I’ll tell you what really worries me.

The idea that very large numbers of people are completely delusional.
The idea that a significant number of these delusional people hold the reigns of power.
The idea that a significant number of these delusional people believe that their particular brand of delusion is the correct delusion and they are willing to kill you to make their point.-

I'll tell you what really worries me. The idea that any mortal human, who'll be alive for 80 years or so, governing a nation full of others who'll also live only 80 years or so, would want to start a thousand-year war.
Reply
Regardless or whether the Bible is true, it's simply not the president's job to impose a thousand-year reign of destruction and suffering on the citizens of his country, even if it's supposed to be for good in the end. If the prophecy in Revelations were true, it'd eventually happen anyway. Why would a responsible leader want to rush the end of days? What's the hurry? -

Could it possibly be that you are the delusional one. There is the joke that where one person says to the other "Every one is crazy but me and thee and sometimes I wonder about thee." Sounds like you atheists having a "circle jerk" like you like to say about others. The vast majority of people in the US and Canada are Christians or some other religion. You in the sad minority always try to say that Christians are trying to do all of these awful things. Go and check the per cent of devout Christians that are in prison. Who were the worst killers this world has ever known? Hitler, Stalin, Mau Tse Tung, Pho Pot, etc. The first three are responsible for killing over 150 million. Mau has 75 million to his credit. All atheists.

So much for the vaunted atheist decency. So much for how horrid Christians are. Who compares to these villains.
Then this article tries to say that Bush's comments have his actions based on Revelation and the quote that is tried is after the millennium. This author and you foolish ones have no conception of eschatology. There are 4 major and 3 minor views of Revelation and the other prophetic books. Any sensible Christian KNOWS that to try and tie things to a particular date is hopeless. All you have to do is watch the ones that try to prove a date. This has been done since the first century. ALL have failed. But this author ignores that or most likely does not know that. Just like you who are involved in this "circle jerk" like liberals are always accusing conservatives of.
All this article does is show the ignorance about eschatology to try and tie Bush to that concept. Foolish atheistic libs. Ranting in ignorance. Chuck is one of the biggest foolish ones in this regard. Anything bad about Christianity he automatically believes. It does not matter how foolish like this story. -

The first seriously convincing explanation of the madness of Tony Blair and his all-too-human fall from being a highly respected individual to a virtual pariah.. And his willingness to stand as a "Christian" warrior alongside the primitively heathen - though nominally christian Bush. Its all too much to chronicle here but the name David Kelly haunts his waking nightmares, I guarantee, as should the death of every British shoulder whom he sent on this un-godly mission.
FTA
The London Daily Telegraph of May 23 published an interview with Blair’s friend Burton who revealed that the ex-Prime Minister was frustrated because British politics — as opposed to the politics of godly America — frowned upon expressions of religious zeal by the country’s top leaders. Now that he’s out of office, Blair has established the “Tony Blair Faith Foundation” and has been interviewed numerous times about his religious views.
According to the Telegraph, “The former Prime Minister’s faith is claimed to have influenced all his key policy decisions and to have given him an unshakeable conviction that he was right.” Burton said “It’s very simple to explain the idea of Blair the Warrior. It was part of Tony living out his faith. While he was at Number 10, Tony was virtually gagged on the whole question of religion. But Tony’s Christian faith is part of him, down to his cotton socks. He believed strongly at the time, that intervention in Kosovo, Sierra Leone — Iraq too — was all part of the Christian battle; good should triumph over evil, making lives better.”-

Isn't this the case with religious fanatics? They and they alone are right and every one else is wrong. They have very little facts (which they have no need with God's guidance) to form policies and implementt them.

"on a mission from God" yeah, just like Rush Limbaugh. Talk about delusional! But not nearly as delusional as the people that listen to that freak.

Reagan started this crap by getting into bed with the moral majority to pander for votes and then letting them dictate policy!

I was talking to Jesus last night and he told me that he didn't tell GWB to invade Iraq that he thought it was a bad idea. He also said that he told bush that He wouldn't use torture on other people and george got upset and told him He didn't know what He was talking about. Go figure. Telling the Son of God he didn't know what he was talking about. Could some of you fine Christans tell me if bush was wrong to tell Jesus Christ he was wrong?

The problem with "shock and awe" is that the enemy were not sufficiently shocked or awed into not resisting the subsequent occupation, which has discounted our prospects of shocking or awing anyone again. We should have stuck with our Gulf War 1 success! Instead we are back to quagmire syndrome.

Ignorance abounds. Almost all of the people being fought were coming into the country from other countries. Al Qaeda and other Muslim terrorist groups keep sending them into Iraq and who do the kill the most of? Other Muslims. Why? To try and make the government there fail. Now your vaunted Obamasiah is doing what Bush did for the same reasons that Bush did.

I'm not a Christian but there are Christians who identify strongly with their faith and do good works - President Carter is one. They do NOT use the Bible to start wars - they don't think that way. They believe their faith can lead them to a more meaningful understanding of their fellow human beings.
Reply
They feel they must serve humanity to serve God - and that
service is not restricted to people of their own faith.
I could never find fault with them - even though I do not share their religion.
They live their faith....................and it does NO HARM. They strive to enrich the lives of all. I applaud them.
I just do not comprehend these other lovers of God - that approve of torture and CONQUEST? Racism and superiority?
That is the WORST of human nature.....it is not divine.
No wonder the world is in such turmoil with these guys
literally calling the shots! -

From the most current Newsweek:

FTA:
One of Netanyahu's advisers said of Iran, "Think Amalek." The Bible says that the Amalekites were dedicated enemies of the Jewish people. In 1 Samuel 15, God says, "Go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." Now, were the president of Iran and his advisers to have cited a religious text that gave divine sanction for the annihilation of an entire race, they would be called, well, messianic.

Seems Bush & Company are not the only world leaders
with a very dangerous Biblical complex. Scary times, folks. -

Sounds like the leader of Iran sees it as Allah's will to start a nuclear exchange with Israel in the hopes it will bring about an ancient 12 year old up from a well where he will then open up a can of holy Shi'ite whup-ass on Christians and Jews with Jesus helping him. Of course, that is totally ignored for some reason.
