It appears as if many people (including some at the NY Times) don't understand true meaning of the phrase "straw man argument". Today's Teachable Moment will introduce you to two alleged straw man arguments and explain why one is a true straw man while the other is not.

    Sort of like the argument that closing GITMO would lead to terrorist being set free in your neighborhoods. Classic example of the "straw man argument."

    funny. at least 3 people propped the article, read it, and then once they saw obama was also a person in question, withdrew their props.

    So metavirus believes we propeller posters need basic
    lessons in retoric and debate? and maybe fingerpainting?

    Perhaps metavirus and charleson can pretend they believe
    we are less than they; but I say, - God Bless America!

    Let us save it from the hordes of straw men who even now
    are massing on our borders, hiding in our closets,
    teaching our children the glories of hay!
    I don't think so. And neither does my country!

    I can talk like this all day long .
