North Korea Nuclear Bomb Test: The Fun Is Just Beginning »
Posted By WikiMap 5 months, 1 week ago in NewsIn 2006, North Korea exploded a small nuclear device that was close to one kiloton in explosive power. There was even some thought that it had been a dud. A few days ago, they detonated a 5-10-20 kiloton nuclear bomb. It may have been the size of the one used on Hiroshima or Nagasaki.

Strategically speaking, one shouldn't go around announcing attacks in advance. Someone serious about invading just does it - someone who wants attention threatens to do it.

Then again, no one ever accused N. Korea of acting rationally and strategically. :( -

Hey ... it's nice to see you taking a break from spewing hatred towards Muslims ... even if it is to Jimmy Carter.
Reply
But I know where you're coming from ... trying your level best to position Carter as worse than George W. Bush.
Give that one a rest, Mutainia. America will NEVER agree that there was a president worse than George W. Bush.

Oh why did we ever loose Jimmy "peanut" Carter? He is the sorriest excuse for a human being! Was a dud as a President, and now is a dud as a private citizen who has reduced himself to kindergarten by throwing salvos at the Bush Administration when his own did NOTHING. Have we been attacked since 9.11? No. Did Mr. Peanut Man do anything besides get Begin and Sadat to shake hands (the Middle East conflict really ended with that diplomacy NOT!). He needs to keep his nose out of places it need not be. He and Jesse Jackson should be roommates.

I think we've got to make it clear to the Chinese and Russians that if we're hit by nukes, we will hold them liable. They've provided the tools and protection. If we're hit, you also will be hurt. I don't mean attacking China, I mean stopping all debt repayments. We can live without their TV's and other crap. China, to meet the needs of their people must create 25 million new jobs every year. That means they need our money more than we need their stuff. No jobs leads to major problems for the Chinese government. It's time for China to step up and deal with their problem child, North Korea.

The bigger picture here is multiple counter responses by other nations,we have to be careful this confrontation doesn't escalate into world war three,i don't think china or russia can deter these nuts, and if any one fires a nuke the fallout will affect us all !

Obama is following the same old sorry ass Bush's policy in dealing with North Korea. Hell, go and talk face to face with North Korea. You see they've been held off for eight years, and they are sick and tired of third party ******** with China. Obama GO AND TALK WITH THE MAN. That's all he want, is some respect. Why do we have to always go to War? Damn, what ever happen to DIPLOMACY ????

Awwwww. All little Kimmy needs is a little respect. Poor guy. Big, bad U.S. of A has once again isolated little Kimmy. So what options does the poor li'l guy have? Anyway, isn't his a sovereign nation? He can do what he wants, right? What's up with big, bad ole U.S.A. telling him what he can and cannot do? Furthermore, the U.S. has nuclear weapons. So who are we to tell li'l Kimmy he can't have them?
Reply
All we need to do is talk with li'l Kimmy. Give the man RESPECT! (Arethra style).
"North Korea is not going to attack a damn soul"
Have I missed any of the mythological talking points?
Or, could it be that Kim is merely the starkest example that the "We Need to be Liked and ENDLESS DIPLOMACY" school of foreign policy is utter nonsense? -

North Korea is not going to attack a damn soul. This is the ONLY way they know they can get attention. Send Hillary's ass to North Korea and set up an Agenda for Obama to meet with Kim Yung. This is what he campaigned on, that he will meet with Leaders that are a treat to our Interests. Now Obama get your ass to North Korea, and use your Dialog skills to better use than GM's bailout. I am one of your stout SUPPORTERS.

Lot of intense feelings here. Anybody remember the agreement that brought about North Korea dismantling their Nuclear program and what we ( The U S ) promised in return?
Reply
And have you been listening to the complaint of Kim? What was his complaint? Wasn't it that the U S was not living up to its end of the bargain?
Have we?
Can you prove either way?
As I recall, we added some caveats after the agreement, that North Korea didn't agree to, and I don't mean immediately after. We really need to get someone with moral and ethical dealing experience over there for a face to face.
It certainly doesn't need to be anybody from the Military Industrial Complex or Corporate Armies because their business is war and they need another war to get going so they can make more money.
North Korea doesn't have any oil so that can't be the cause and if we have not been living up to our promises, shame on us.
Actually I think that has been Kim's complaint since he re-started his Nuclear program. And as I recall, he also said what facets of the agreement the U S had failed to do.
I think before we start a war we ought to require someone we can trust to look into the matter. -
