    This does raise an interesting point.

    As segregated as we are right now, I wonder if the coastal regions and "flyover country" would not be completely willing to let one another go?

      To what end?

      With what consequences?

      I see no benefit whasoever. Just chaos, economic splintering, military weakening, anger and resentment, loss of prestige and power forever.
