Well here it is,
"...a government program to compete with private insurers,..."
"The proposal would pay health-care providers participating in a public plan 10 percent more than they would get under Medicare, according (to) a summary provided by the people."
"Kennedy’s plan would require employers to provide health insurance or pay a subsidy to help support the public plan, according to the summary. It would set a federal standard for Medicaid, the federal program for the poor, to cover people who earn up to 150 percent of the poverty level. States currently set their own standards for coverage."
Your opinions, please?-

I hope you're not going to claim that the system in place now is 'ideal'.

I guess you are lucky that John McCain didn't get elected.

HIS plan was far more draconian.
Here, check out what the National Center for Policy Analysis had to say ...

But I hear where you are coming from.
As an anti-government type ... you see government as the enemy.
This clouds all reason from your thinking process.
This penchant of yours renders you incapable of seeing the wreckage of our Health Care system ... how it is bankrupting our nation ... inflicting untold harm on our large and small businesses ... and causing phenomenal pain and suffering on millions of Americans.
The ONLY people who DON'T want a solution to the Health Care mess can be summed up in Four categories.
1) Ideologues who can't allow themselves to see reality.
2) Officers and Employees of Insurance companies
3) Officers and Employees of Pharmaceutical companies.
4) People who work for large companies with excellent Health Care plans ... who don't want to give up that perk - even though it would help America and Millions of people.

Did it cloud Thomas Jefferson's, too, Goppy?

Thomas Jefferson to Joseph C. Cabell
2 Feb. 1816Writings 14:421--23
"No, my friend, the way to have good and safe government, is not to trust it all to one, but to divide it among the many, distributing to every one exactly the functions he is competent to. Let the national government be entrusted with the defence of the nation, and its foreign and federal relations; the State governments with the civil rights, laws, police, and administration of what concerns the State generally; the counties with the local concerns of the counties, and each ward direct the interests within itself. It is by dividing and subdividing these republics from the great national one down through all its subordinations, until it ends in the administration of every man's farm by himself; by placing under every one what his own eye may superintend, that all will be done for the best. What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating all cares and power into one body, no matter whether of the autocrats of Russia or France, or of the aristocrats of a Venetian senate."
This is just an excerpt. I have provided the link should you wish to read all of it. ENJOY!

we already have a public health care program, its called welfare, I work hard to keep insurance on my 3 kids and wife WHY would i want to pay more to insure those that don't work or wont work hard enough to get their own health insurance or give health care to ILLEGALS, if the government wants to help the ppl get insurance then it should try to work with the Insurance companies and come to a happy medium on lower costs. If insurance companies would lower their price and People Would stop with the ridiculous lawsuits for Ridiculous amount of money (5 million dollars for spilt coffee for example ) then Insurance prices would drop

--Well *if* you've worked hard, you've already been gleefully supporting lots of wealthy people who haven't earned what they have either. Not surprisingiy, all you beleaguered cons who are working your fingers to the bone, blah blah... rarely want to talk about that. Nor do you want to talk about the fact that you're perfectly content to subsidize the healthcare, salaries, pensions of those who are fighting to deny decent healthcare to others. I think there's a word for that...And by the way, you cons *really* need to stop dragging out that tired (and frequently false) claim that you're all such haaaaaaaaard workiing folks who are oppressed by the poor and "illegals" because in the past 8 years alone, America has seen a sickening amount of welfare for the wealthy dispensed. We've also seen lots of privileged people being rewarded for no reason whatsoever. We know better than to believe you people when you claim to be all hard working this or that... ;-( -

Is a 5 million dollar lawsuit concerning a coffee spill germane to malpractice? I think that if you are going to use an example concerning malpractice insurance being extremely high due to lawsuits, please use one that relates to malpractice that makes your point.

One of the interesting areas that certain people forget about is that some want to demand that every baby be born, no matter what the woman carrying it has to say about it, but they don't want to pay for the hospitalization for the birth and care of said child. -

If our nation had a Health Care plan, like EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIAL NATION ... you would have $1,500 to $2,000 a month MORE ... for which to take care of your family.

Plus, you would have a clearer conscience that your fellow Americans are no longer being sacrificed to Insurance companies.
Of course, you have your Ideology .... bred by fear .... that causes you to short-change your children ... and your country.
What can I say .... many on the right have embraced the Moral Vacancy of Modern Republicanism.

I am not morally vacant i have very high morals and i strive to uphold them every day. The 1 moral i have and Wish all these fat lazy people on welfare who wont get up off their fats AZZS and work for a dime they receive is self respect. There is no way i would sit around expecting others to give me what i am to lazy to work for, if i did not have health care i would do everything i could to make the money to get help if i needed it, and for the moron who did not realize i was just showing a Stupid lawsuit i will try to make it to where you understand okay,

If i went to have surgery done, and the doctor botched the surgery (it happens) and i need to have the botched surgery fixed i would not sue the doctor for 100 million dollars. It is STUPID to sue for that much, give me a good example of where pain and suffering is is gonna come to 100 million dollars. 1 million is reasonable 100 million is just greed. and now for the comment about wanting every baby born no matter what the mother says. It takes 2 to make the baby why does it only take 1 to decide to kill it, if the mother does not want it and the father does then let the father raise it, if neither of them want it then there are a lot of people who are willing and able to adopt. its not about wanting every child born its about not using abortion as birth control because the mother had sex but does not want to take responsibility For her actions, and the same for those dads that do not want to take Responsibility and wants the woman to get a quick fix to the problem. If you have sex and get knocked up take responsibility. it is that simple and i am all for getting rid of all welfare i am Sick of paying for it. GET OFF YOUR AZZS AND GET A DA M N JOB.-
