FTA: "Lee Sang-hyun, director of the Security Studies Program at the Sejong Institute in Seoul, said the North's moves were calculated to get international attention."

Well, if North Korea was planning on initiating hostilities warning its neighbors with missile tests and by publicly revoking the armistice seems like a pretty dumb way to go about it. They pretty much already lost the element of surprise, though it's difficult to tell if they'd have been able to surprise anyone militarily when they are under satellite surveillance and if they experience as much aerial espionage as they claim.

What I don't understand is how being a "full nuclear state" would put them in a better negotiating position with US or other countries for that matter, then being what they were before? Didn't they already get being removed from terror backlist? If not, then why do they think they'll be able to now?

Unless North Korea actually wants to be a full-fledged nuclear power I don't see the point of their actions.

I wonder how many missiles the US launches every year? Are we willing to accept the same restrictions that we attempt to force on other countries? More "do as I say, not do as I do"?

what i want to know is 'why are they prepping it on the western side of the country?'

are they going to shoot it over Japan again? now THAT would be provocative. of course, it gives us a chance to shoot it down with the YAL 100 and the Japs a chance to bag a NK missile with those upgraded Patriots...

watch Kim Il Dung dance around after that little proof-of-concept.
