WASHINGTON (CAP) - A bill to create the first national limit on gas emissions by members of Congress was approved by the House of Representatives yesterday after a week of late-night debates and committee meetings punctuated by jaunts to Taco Bell and Hardee's. The bill now moves on to the Senate where passage is expected to be a breeze.

"While the bill passed mostly along party lines, only a small group of Republicans really raised a stink over the legislation, saying the wording unfairly targets overweight congressmen. However, Democrats were quick to point out that the biggest offender over the past two decades has actually been one of their own.

"He wasn't a congressman per se, but you knew when Bill Clinton had had one of them Big Macs for lunch," said Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD). "If you ever had to meet with him in the Oval Office, you'd pray it was a nice day and he had the windows open, or just had a salad.

"I don't know how that Lewinsky girl could spend any time under his desk like she did," Hoyer added."

    LOL

Hope they didn't have pickeled eggs and beer.
That is enough to cause an explosive release of toxins that can clear a room.

    Good one ind06

It's my understanding that Ms Pelosi was given immunity because she claimed she'd never had gas and even if she did it would have a nice fragrance.

Harry Reid, Kennedy and Schumer were not given the same consideration, however. Their cushions could not pass muster.

    No Republicans requested immunity.
