Confirmed cases of H1N1 Flu Virus in Ontario - 828 - as of 3:00 pm EDT on June 2, 2009

Nearly all H1N1 cases in Ontario are considered mild. There have been few hospitalized cases, most of which have recovered and have been discharged. Three (3) deaths have been reported where swine flu was a factor, at least two victims had serious concurrent health disorders unrelated to the flu.

Provincial Emergency Preparedness Status

Declaration of enhanced conditions means that an abnormal event, potential or actual emergency has been detected or is in development. Under these conditions the ministry enhances its surveillance and monitoring activities and takes appropriate related actions.
