HADITHA, Iraq -- The dirt overturned to bury some of the 24 people killed by U.S. Marines here in 2005 has turned to dust. The graves where women were interred with their children along the Euphrates River are bereft of tombstones. Weeds mark the passage of time, though not the pain of memories.

Indeed, this sounds mostly like feel-good propaganda for Americans, something VOA is NOT supposed to engage in.
Of course the countries polled are those of our favorite puppet dictatorships for the most part. When can w expect a poll on what Afghanis and Pakistanis think of Obama and his expansion of our military imperialism.

The fact is that they are the ones on the outside looking in, who do not understand that the interests of U.S. imperialism do not cause religious and national and ethnic sensibilities to disappear or make it possible for local leaders, even those on the imperialist payroll, to snap their fingers, crush local resistance and produce social peace. The interests of U.S. imperialism in this case, in the form of regime change in Afghanistan, and the way it was done, have antagonized much of the Pakistani population.
This is Washington’s unwanted gift to Islamabad, for which Islamabad keeps getting paid and keeps paying.
